With the grim ghost of dark times during the Nazi occupation of Greece still casting an impenetrable shadow only four short years after the nation's liberation, the long-suffering paterfamilias, Theodoros, can't help but fear the worst. Suddenly, amid corrosive animosity among brothers, the siren's despairing wail and a blood-curdling news flash on the radio bring back painful memories of a not-so-distant era, as the unstoppable invaders' megalomaniac leader, Adolf Hitler, has risen, somehow, from the grave. Now, as the powerful adversary's forces are closing in on Greece, Theodoros, his family, and the helpless neighbours, once more, find themselves under the thumb of the German tyrant, fighting for their lives.
