What if Captain Bradford refuses and wants you to stay in your boring boarding-school? You stow away, it goes without saying. What if you want to become a singer? Trivia In the 1920s, 1930s, and 1940s, the Danish tenor Lauritz Melchior was generally considered the world's preeminent performer of Wagner's big heldentenor (heroic tenor) roles, such as Siegmund, Siegfried, Lohengrin, Walther von Stolzing, Tristan, Tannhauser, and Parsifal. Numerous recordings of him singing these roles are available. See more »
Goofs In the opening credits, the funnels of the inbound luxury liner Mayflower sport the white, green and red of the Italian Line. Once docked, the camera pan across the Mayflower's superstructure shows the forward funnel painted completely in red. On departure, the ship's livery is back to that of the Italian Line, and the Mayflower's bow bears the real-life name of a crack pre-war Italian liner, the Conte di Savoia. See more »
