    • Goofs
      In the Metro Station, Leyden sneaks through the turnstile without inserting a coin however he does this in front of a Metro Station officer who is positioned at the turnstile. In such a scenario the officer would have stopped Leyden to make him pay or arrest him but he just stood there passively watching Leyden sneak in. The film never explains or establishes how Leyden was able to get away with it.

    The best of all Eric Ambler adaptations
    Wonderful suspense film, with Lorre and Greenstreet, the Mutt and Jeff, of international intrigue, at the very top of their game, a great screen debut by Zachery Scott in the title role, and Victor Francen's very best performance in a minor but vital part. Atmosphere galore. -This- is the kind of film Warner Brothers did better than anyone else.
