Ashok Kumar and Kismet proved that he didn't need standards to be a classy actor for an offbeat film...

I am so surprised and flabbergasted by this socio-realism film that it still looks fresh and relevant in present times. And, the topics it discusses are not old or outdated like fake hero, unwanted pregnancy, pick-pocketing, abortion and disown-meant.

The film talks about how life of Shekhar (Ashok Kumar) comes around with the kismat he cannot run away from like he tires to make his life better and straight after being in jail for thievery and pick- pocketing and how he encounters Rani (Mumtaz Shanti) who changes her life all the way. All, also meets his estranged parents at the end.

The film if i could say in one line would be like it is very connecting, songs are lovely (if you are lover of old and classy songs) and acting with script is finest thing attached to the film.

Do consider watching as it was made before India's Independence around second world war period & produced by Bombay Talkies who did made a lot of progressive films and ahead of its time that they weren't famous back then as they are now.
