Trivia

The American poster for this film featured large pictures of Jack Nicholson and Diane Keaton. In Japan, the poster also included a large picture of Keanu Reeves, presumably because of his popularity there at the time. See more »

Goofs

When Erica returns from the restaurant after confronting Harry, she picks up her phone messages and the system says she has 1 new message. It was from Julian. But just prior to that, Harry had called Erica from his apartment and, although he didn't speak, he had activated Erica's voice mail past the beep, so there should have been 2 new messages... one of them dead air. Harry Sanborn: Me too.

Something Shoulda Stopped This Before It Was Made
18 January 2004 | by avenuesfSee all my reviews

What a waste of time and money this was. Besides being overly long and ponderous, it was completely unbelievable. Jack Nicholson was miscast as the aging love interest (come on - women are falling for this guy who keeps having heart attacks?). The movie tries to be overly cute and only ends up being annoying (there is an endless scene of Keaton crying that destroys any shred of credibility her character has managed to create), and looks like it was pieced together by several writers, none of whom consulted with the other. Frances McDormand is totally wasted... why would an actress of her caliber take on a role like this? This is typical, formula stuff that you'd see on a t.v. sitcom.
