The stooges are photographers for Whack magazine ("If it's a good picture it's out of Whack") who, after messing up an assignment, are sent to the country of Vulgaria to get a picture of a death ray gun. Curly's last request is a giant cigar and by the time he's done smoking it all the soldiers are asleep and the stooges make their escape.Written by

The scene with Curly Howard getting in a fight with his bowl of clam chowder had to be stopped and restarted several times during filming (watch the tassels on Curly's cap swing and stop) because the crew members were laughing so hysterically at Curly he was also breaking up laughing. See more »
The cap Curly wears during the wine tasting has the tassels misaligned before the first sip. Afterward, the tassels are evenly located over both ears. See more »
This is not one of the best Three Stooges shorts by any means. There are some rather dull moments, and scenes meant to be funny don't really generate many laughs. The premise is a good one: Sending three inept photographers to Vulgaria (a great name for a country) where cameras are forbidden. Unfortunately, they weren't able to pull off as many laughs as in some of their other work. For high quality Stooges shorts, check out "Three Little Beers" or "In the Sweet Pie and Pie."
