    • Trivia
Stepin Fetchit was hospitalized after being knocked unconscious in one scene by a racist actor who had surreptitiously substituted a billiard ball for the much softer ball Fetchit was supposed to be hit in the face with at a carnival attraction. In the carnival attraction scene, this exact action occurs, but is played for comic effect.
