A tiger shot and killed after attacking a dog on Wednesday was revealed to be one of the stars of the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus before it closed, a spokesman confirms People.

Suzy, a 6-year-old Bengal tiger, escaped as Feld Entertainment, Inc – the company behind Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus and Disney On Ice – transport tigers from Florida to Memphis, Tennessee.

A spokesman for the company, Stephen Payne tells People the tiger was owned by big cat handler Alex Lacey. Payne said Suzy was being transported with 13 other tigers from the circus.

Twitch To Team With Crunchyroll For Five-Day Anime Marathon

Building on the strong overlap between gaming and anime culture, Twitch is teaming up with anime and manga streaming platform Crunchyroll for a five-day marathon of 15 top series including Yuri On Ice, Mob Psycho 100, Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid, and Rokka: Braves of the Six Flowers.

The marathon -- Twitch’s first in the anime space -- will kick off July 27 on the TwitchPresents channel, and concludes Aug. 1, with the full programming slate to be revealed on Friday. To celebrate the marathon, Twitch will unveil exclusive anime-themed emotes for TwitchPresents subscribers.

Production on Mary Poppins Returns, the all new sequel to Disney's 1964 film Mary Poppins, has commenced at Shepperton Studios. The film, which stars Golden Globe winner Emily Blunt (The Girl on the Train, Into the Woods) and Emmy, Grammy and Tony Award winner Lin-Manuel Miranda (Hamilton, Moana) and is directed and produced by Oscar nominee, Emmy and DGA Award winner Rob Marshall (Into the Woods, Chicago), is scheduled for release December 25, 2018.

The film also stars Ben Whishaw (Spectre), Emily Mortimer (Hugo) and Julie Walters (Harry Potter films) with Colin Firth (The King's Speech) and Meryl Streep (Florence Foster Jenkins). In addition, Dick Van Dyke plays Mr. Dawes Jr., the chairman of Fidelity Fiduciary Bank, which is now run by William Weatherall Wilkins (Firth).

Janus Metz Pederson (“Armadillo”)’s “Borg vs McEnroe” with Shia Labeouf, and Ruben Ostlund’s “The Square” with Elisabeth Moss are among the most anticipated Scandinavian work-in-progress titles set for the Nordic Film Market hosted during Goteborg Film Festival’s industry days.

Both films are part of the 18 work-in-progress features selected by Cia Edström, Goteborg’s head of industry, and her team.

“Borg vs McEnroe” stars up-and-comer Sverrir Gudnason (“Monica Z”) as Swedish player Bjorn Borg and Labeouf as John McEnroe. The film chronicles the 1980 Wimbledon final and sheds light on the two tennis stars’ complex relationship and rivalry.Tre Vanner and Sf Studios are producing, while Svensk handles international sales.

The Square,” meanwhile, is a satirical film turning on the creative director of a museum who is desperate to build some buzz around an upcoming exhibition and decides to hire a PR agency which has no boundaries. The film is produced by Plattform Produktion.

Sf Studios has inked further deals on two anticipated Scandi pics, the Shia Labeouf starrer “Borg/McEnroe” and “Børning2 – On Ice,” at the American Film Market.

Directed by Janus Metz Pederson, the Danish helmer whose credits include “Armadillo” and “True Detective,” “Borg/McEnroe” has proven an international sales hit since being introduced by Sf Studios and Tre Vanner at Cannes.

“Borg/McEnroe” was acquired by Best Film in Poland, Hualu in China, Phoenecia for the Middle East and Fame Solutions/Programs4Media for former Yugoslavia. Ahead of the Afm, the project was picked up by Lucky Red (Lucky Red) and Cineplex (Colombia). Sf Studios had previously sold the pic to 10 territories including France (Pretty Pictures), UK (Curzon), Gas (Ascot Elite) and Australia/New Zealand (Vendetta).

The anticipated project toplines Sverrir Gudnason (“Monica Z”) as Swedish tennis icon Bjorn Borgand and Shia Labeouf (“American Honey”) as John McEnroe.

SF Studios closes deals on tennis biopic starring Shia La Beouf, car-racing action feature.

SF Studios has closed a number of key deals on its upcoming titles as the American Film Market (Afm) gets underway.

Janus Metz’s Borg/McEnroe — the biopic of the tennis greats concentrating on the rivalry at their final match at Wimbledon in 1980 and starring Shia La Beouf, Sverrir Gudnason and Stellan Skarsgård – has sold to Lucky Red for Italy and Cineplex for Latin America.

The film, which has now wrapped principal photography, has previously sold to territories including France (Pretty Pictures), UK (Curzon), Gas (Ascot Elite), and Australia/New Zealand (Vendetta).

Borning2 – On Ice directed by Hallvard Bræin, a car-racing action title that has passed 350,000 admissions in only three weeks of Norwegian release, has sold to Spain (A Contracorriente), Poland (Kino Swiat), and Middle East (Shooting Stars). The Nordisk Film & TV Fond has allocated $317,000 (Nok 2.7m) to Norwegian car racing sequel Børning 2-On Ice.

Hallvard Bræin again directs, with veteran John M Jacobsen producing with Marcus Brodersen for Filmkameratene.

In the film, Anders Baasmo Christiansen stars as a father who tries to prevent his daughter (Ida Husøy) from taking part in another illegal street race, this time from the west coast of Norway to Sweden, Finland and Murmansk in Russia. The original 2014 hit featured a race from Oslo to North the Cape.

The $5.8m (Nok 50m) project is shooting now with co-financing from Sf with Rein Film and Fuzz As. It is set for a local premiere on Oct 5.

The support marked the largest grant for the Fond’s February round of production support.

Google Debuts Wacky 360-Degree Short From Spotlight Stories Series Entitled ‘On Ice’

Google’s Advanced Technology and Projects (Atap) group, an in-house lab that develops groundbreaking tech in the mobile realm, has just released its second 360-degree short film on YouTube.

Entitled On Ice, the 46-second short succeeds Special Delivery, which debuted last Christmas.

On Ice can be viewed on the Google Spotlight Stories YouTube channel or on the Google Spotlight Stories app -- which launched last May and features 360-degree shorts created by well-known filmmakers in order to show off Google’s mobile Vr chops. (Spotlight Stories is a division of Atap.) Using Google Cardboard, the company's Vr headset, the films can be experienced in 3D.

Amyra Dastur who is currently in Iceland for Jackie Chan’s Kung Fu Yoga shot under extreme weather conditions for an important scene.

The actress had to train on ice in spite of freezing temperature for a big action sequence which was to be filmed between her and Jackie Chan.

Since the sequence had to be shot on ice, the actress had no option but to train on it despite the weather conditions. Though it was difficult to perform stunts and move her body, Amyra did not give up and continued to train.

However, Jackie was also there by Amyra’s side and kept on motivating her throughout the shoot because of which the actress could give her hundred percent.
