Timeless Season 1 Episode 13 Review: Karma Chameleon

  • TVfanatic
Well, that didn't work out as planned.

That statement certainly covers all storylines on Timeless Season 1 Episode 13, as well-made plans all went splat.

First, Flynn's little time-delayed bomb finally went off.

Flynn gave Wyatt the name of his wife Jessica's killer on Timeless Season 1 Episode 12.

So naturally, Wyatt's idea was to go back in history to prevent Jessica's murder from happening.

His solution was to prevent the killer, Wes Gilliam, from being born by keeping his parents from having the necessary one-night stand.

That's because Rufus correctly insisted that no one gets hurt during this mission, which would have to be a first.

Wyatt mounted a charm offensive on Claire, while Rufus served as his wingman, distracting Claire's friend and Gilliam's future dad, Joel, all the while geeking out on '80s TV (who doesn't miss the A-Team?) and video games.

Not that he was terribly adept at distractions: A

Jeff Lewis Takes the E!Q in 42, Talks Upcoming ''Dilf'' Status and Doing Flipping Out ''Until the Wheels Come Off''
As fans of Flipping Out know, Jeff Lewis is most particular. Which, of course, is one of the reasons why we couldn't wait to sit him down for an E!Q in 42 while chatting about the current season of his long-running Bravo show, which these days is as much about family matters as it is about all the juggling that goes into running an empire out of his home—whichever home during any given season that may be! "I can't believe it's been nine seasons," Lewis told E! News this summer. "Every time they pick it up again I think it's a joke!" He added, "It's a gift that keeps giving. I've said, I'm riding this until the wheels fall off. I think people...

Dancing with the Stars pro Karina Smirnoff is blogging about her experience on the reality dance competition's 22nd season exclusively for People.com. Follow Smirnoff and her partner Doug Flutie on Twitter!Being in the bottom is never easy - especially at the first elimination show - but I have to admit, it barely even registered that Doug and I were in danger of going home last week. In rehearsal earlier that day, they had only called out two couples as being in the bottom. So Doug and I assumed there were only going to be two couples in jeopardy on the live show.

DVD Savant 2015 Favored Disc Roundup

or, Savant picks The Most Impressive Discs of 2015

This is the actual view from Savant Central, looking due North.

What a year! I was able to take one very nice trip back East too see Washington D.C. for the first time, or at least as much as two days' walking in the hot sun and then cool rain would allow. Back home in Los Angeles, we've had a year of extreme drought -- my lawn is looking patriotically ratty -- and we're expecting something called El Niño, that's supposed to be just shy of Old-Testament build-me-an-ark intensity. We withstood heat waves like those in Day the Earth Caught Fire, and now we'll get the storms part. This has been a wild year for DVD Savant, which is still a little unsettled. DVDtalk has been very patient and generous, and so have Stuart Galbraith & Joe Dante; so far everything

Review: Political drama 'Zipper' becomes 'Reefer Madness' for sex addiction

Review: Political drama 'Zipper' becomes 'Reefer Madness' for sex addiction
Just as sex scandals are pretty much as old as politics themselves, as long as we've had films, we've had cinematic depictions of sex scandals, usually serious and sometimes comedic. Whether filmmakers have had to be coy about the nature of the scandals -- see "The Best Man" or "Advise and Consent" -- or whether filmmakers have been able to directly tear sex scandals from the headlines -- see "Primary Colors" -- the ground has been fertile. Fortunately -- Unfortunately? -- sex scandals just keep coming along and we keep lapping them up, from Eliot Spitzer to John Edwards to Anthony Weiner. Bringing the genre to Sundance this year was "Zipper," a largely straight-faced approach to a plausibly finger-on-the-pulse topic, which falls flat because of a middle act in which the drama spirals into dated addiction craziness. When it's a political thriller, "Zipper" is respectably acted and presented and has some merit.
