Original version of the short featured a short scene (circa 10 seconds) where the blond boy looks up the chimney after Santa and some soot falls on his face. This effectively makes him look like he's in blackface and the scene is played for laughs. This scene was removed from the cartoon in recent decades.

At least one REAL toy is depicted in this cartoon: the wind-up Mickey Mouse trolley manufactured by the Lionel Toy Company Which was a big seller and saved the company from financial ruin.
