‘Luke Cage’ Season 2: All the References, Cameos, Crossovers, and Easter Eggs in Each Episode

‘Luke Cage’ Season 2: All the References, Cameos, Crossovers, and Easter Eggs in Each Episode
[Editor’s Note: The following contains spoilers for “Luke Cage” Season 2, including the finale.]

Luke Cage” series creator Cheo Hodari Coker is a longtime comic book fan, and it shows with the number of fun Easter eggs he includes in the show’s first outing. Since then, Netflix’s Marvel world has expanded, and therefore in Season 2, the show doesn’t hold back when it comes to pop culture references and full-blown crossovers. Many are obvious, but some are for diehards or eagle-eyed, pause-button-happy fans.

Luke Cage” is the type of show that references the Avengers but never names them. It also exists in the present but feels retro thanks to the heavy ‘90s hip-hop influence and nods to the original comics when Luke Cage (Mike Colter) was drafting off the blaxploitation craze. Check out all the Easter eggs and pop-culture references we could find below, and let us know what we’re missing in the comments.

Rosario Dawson Returning For Both Daredevil Season 3 And Iron Fist Season 2

While the Avengers had Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury to bring them together, the character that connected the Defenders was Rosario Dawson’s tough nurse Claire Temple. Since first appearing as an ally and brief love interest to Matt Murdock in Daredevil season 1, Claire has turned up in Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist to help out the heroes when in need. In fact, the only season of a Marvel/Netflix show that she hasn’t featured in is the debut run of The Punisher.

So, it’s not too surprising to hear that Dawson will be reprising her role in the upcoming third season of Daredevil and the sophomore season of Iron Fist. The announcement comes from Discussing Film, and though they don’t specify how they came by this scoop, we heavily suspect they’re on the money with it.

The last time we saw Dawson in The Defenders,

Marvel’s The Defenders Season 2: Is Shadowland Inbound?

George Chrysostomou on whether Marvel’s Netflix universe is heading towards Shadowland…

Now that we are just over a week removed from the release of The Defenders, pitting Luke Cage, Iron Fist, Jessica Jones and Daredevil against the Hand in a war for New York, we are starting to see predictions for where ‘Phase Two’ of this project is leading. Indeed, we’re already aware that Jessica Jones season 2 will see the return of Kilgrave in some form, with many believing that Season 3 of Daredevil will see the Born Again storyline adapted to the screen.

However, I believe Netflix are making it very clear as to how they wish Phase Two to play out and the true direction they are going in. It is in my opinion that Defenders Season 2 will see the culmination of a new buildup of characters and situations which will produce the much loved Shadowland storyline

Marvel Partnering With ABC On New Comedy Series, Teases It As 'Jessica Jones-Esque'

You might forgive the fine folks over at Marvel Television Studios for thinking that they can do no wrong! Over the last several years they went from zero to 14 total series on Netflix, ABC, Fox, FX, Hulu and Freeform (whatever the hell that is) -- with several more in the pipeline. With all these shows it's hard to imagine that there's a demographic they haven't dominated yet... and you'd be wrong, apparently.

Speaking at the Edinburg TV Festival this week Marvel TV's senior VP of original programming, Karim Zreik, shared a few details of a new project they've developing with ABC:

"Comedy is something we really want to go into. It took us time to dip our foot in the comedy pool [with Guardians of the Galaxy], but we'd never do an office comedy."Related - Wonder Woman Getting Best Picture Oscars Push From Warner Bros.

“’s life greatest equalizer,” Biel, 35, says in a video for Simpson’s new Jbtp (“Just Be The Parent”) media campaign. “Doesn’t matter where you’re from, how much you make, what you do … you are grounded to every other parent on this planet.

Marvel's Defenders: Is Claire Temple the White Tiger?

James Hunt Jul 27, 2017

Here's the case for Claire Temple playing the White Tiger in the Marvel Netflix universe...

Warning: contains spoilers for all Marvel Netflix shows to date.

The reception to Marvel’s Netflix shows has varied considerably from series to series - but something almost everyone agrees on is that Rosario Dawson’s character, Claire Temple, has been a highlight of them all. Like a Netflix Agent Coulson, it seems clear she’ll serve as the character who ultimately unites the team during the crossover series, The Defenders.

But it's possible her role is destined to be even more substantial than that. The ending of Iron Fist in particular hints that Claire may take the step Coulson never did and join the ranks of the (occasionally) costumed adventurers. We can't help but wonder: is she

Iron Fist, the fourth and final member of the Defenders, has finally made his debut. Feel free to read along as you watch too, but please don’t spoil future episodes for anyone in the comments!

Ouch. Just when I thought Iron Fist had turned a corner, the cold open - sexy women pitching synthetic heroin to potential buyers - bordered on cringeworthy. After that things got a little better, but the show is veering

Iron Fist: Slow News Day Means Periodic Updates As I Binge! (All Episodes Are In)

Iron Fist has finally been released, and if I can get away with it today I will attempt to give Spoiler-free'ish updates throughout the day! I have been waiting for this for awhile, and while we have seen nothing but negative reviews, it is up to us, the readers, for the final decision!

Episode 01 + 02

The first episode has a very "Bruce Wayne returns" type of feel to it, as Danny Rand shows back up after being missing and presumed dead for most of his life, after training in a mystical place that "can't be reached from here." The Meachums kids have taken over the company after their father's death from cancer, but it should actually be Danny's company. Rand does not seem to want money, just some answers. He attempts to go to a Dojo to train, which doesn't work as planned. At the end we get a surprise as someone is still alive.

Claire Temple Lends A Helping Hand (Again) In New Iron Fist Clip; Finn Jones Teases A “Bigger Threat” Ahead Of The Defenders

Spare a thought for Claire Temple. Ever since Daredevil made a beeline for Netflix two whole years ago, Rosario Dawson’s kind-hearted nurse has patched up the Man Without Fear and Mike Colter’s Hero for Hire, not to mention giving some much-needed advice to the prickly Jessica Jones.

But on March 17th, the final Defender, Iron Fist, will call upon Claire Temple for medical aid, and a new clip from IGN sheds light on the first encounter between Temple and Danny Rand’s hero-in-training. Is Marvel’s steadfast supporting player slowly beginning to complete her transition to Night Nurse? It’s the one rumor that continues to do the rounds online, but until we hear official confirmation one way or another, you can get a better sense of Claire and Danny’s dynamic up above.

Looking further afield, Entertainment Tonight recently quizzed Finn Jones about the threats facing Iron Fist

Every Doctor Strange Easter Egg and Marvel Secret Revealed

Every Doctor Strange Easter Egg and Marvel Secret Revealed
Doctor Strange isn't just following in Marvel's tradition of being a box office success. It also comes jam-packed with hidden gems, Easter eggs and plenty of secrets you'll probably miss that first, or even second time around. The movie is enjoying a stellar first weekend. And there's a good chance you might be seeing it again. So we've collected some of the minor, yet very cool things, that might have gone unnoticed by the less initiated Marvel fan.

Helping delve the depths of Doctor Strange is the movie's own director Scott Derrickson, who teamed up with Entertainment Weekly for a quite insightful Q&A. And the first thing of note is that Steve Ditko's artistic style from the 1960s Strange Tales comic book series served as a direct inspiration for the movie's visual style. Ditko, now 89 and mostly staying out of the public eye, co-created Spider-Man and was the

Christina Palmer was also the name of a nurse who appeared in the short-lived 1970s Marvel comic book series Night Nurse, which followed three roommates who were also nurses on the night shift at a Manhattan hospital. The nurses were not superheroes but got involved in dramatic, sometimes dangerous situations. One of them, Linda Carter, started helping superheroes as Night Nurse and later became involved with Doctor Strange in a comic book series...

Doctor Strange TV Spot Opens the Eye of Agamotto

Doctor Strange TV Spot Opens the Eye of Agamotto
The Sorcerer Supreme is finally coming to the big screen in just a few weeks, when Doctor Strange opens in theaters nationwide on November 4. To get fans ready for this superhero adventure, a new TV spot has arrived, featuring The Ancient One (Tilda Swinton) explaining this new world to Benedict Cumberbatch's Stephen Strange, as she shows him how to open the Eye of Agamotto. While we'll have to wait a few weeks to see how it fares at the box office, Doctor Strange has already been tracking quite strongly.

We reported last weekend that box office analysts are predicting an opening weekend between $55 million and $75 million. As of now, the lowest opening weekend is 2008's The Incredible Hulk, which earned $55 million, just months after Iron Man kicked off Marvel Phase 1 eight years ago. As we get closer to the November 4 release date, those numbers may be adjusted, but we
