Patrick Swayze, who participated in skydiving as a hobby, was told to stop, for insurance purposes, once production began. Producers coaxed him into the agreement with the promise of letting the star do one actual skydive on-screen. The uncut shot of Bodhi yelling "Adios amigo!" and falling from the plane features Swayze actually making a jump. Unbeknownst to the producers, when not on the day's call sheet Swayze and others would occasionally run out to an airport and go skydiving anyway. See more »

I tried to watch Point Break a few years back, and couldn't really get into it. I then recently gave it a full look, and I happened to enjoy it quite a bit.
Point Break is about a federal agent, Johnny (Keanu Reeves) that has to put an end to these bank robbers that happen to be surfers. They are led by Bodhi (Patrick Swayze) and have a big addiction for thievery. Johnny then, however, falls in love with a female surfer, Tyler (Lori Petty) and she happens to be connected to the surfing bank robbers. So now, Tyler must decide to either stay good and stop the bad guys, or join the dark side and become one of them.
The plot was fine, and ran in a pretty moderate pace. What really helped the film was the acting and the action & surfing scenes. Reeves and Swayze worked really good together, and Gary Busey is also in this as Reeve's partner. The whole cast for the most part did a great job.
The action worked pretty well, and I loved the surfing elements in the movie. They were all shot very wel and made the film feel more intriguing.
Bottom line, Point Break is a classic and has one of Swayze's best roles that he could do.
