Storyline

One day while going through the county prison, a professor of a nearby college pauses outside one of the cells, asks one of the respectable-looking inmates what had brought him to his low estate. Peter, having talked to no one for many days, told the professor all. "One day I saw the stenographer from the office next door and she made eyes at me. I flirted back. Then she became offended. Not noticing this, I kept up the flirtation and she, in anger, told me that her fiancé, Bill Murphy, was laying for me. Full of sharp turns, jolts and contrasts
20 January 2018 | by deickemeyerSee all my reviews

A picture that mixes serious tragedy and farce and has as much fun with the audience as the audience has with it. Perhaps most of the spectators enjoyed it thoroughly, for it is unlike other pictures; is sprightly acted with Sidney Drew in the leading role, and is full of sharp turns, jolts and contrasts. We are left wondering what the minister thought when he heard that tale of why the prisoner was "'here." - The Moving Picture World, December 6, 1913
