Storyline

Grace is a lady's maid in the homo of the Wilsons. Her sweetheart is detective "Bob" Curley. Her brother is a loafer and one day while delivering a message to Grace steals some jewels belonging to Mrs. Wilson. "Bob" is detailed to the case. Later, he sees two men dividing the loot and arrests one. He recognizes from the description the stolen jewels. He gives chase to the other. The other man runs up a fire escape and into Grace's home, with "Bob" in pursuit. Ned, for he is the culprit, begs Grace to shield him and he hides under his mother's bed. "Bob'' enters and asks Grace if she saw a man enter. She says no, but her mother seeing a man under her bed screams and "Bob" rushes up. There he finds Ned and drags him out. Grace pleads with her lover not to arrest her brother, but he is obdurate in the performance of his duty. Ned is sent to jail and Grace breaks her engagement to "Bob." Two years later, on his release from prison, "Bob" gets Ned a job and Grace learning of this makes up ... Written by Moving Picture World synopsis
