Storyline

Disney's animated classic takes on a new form, with a widened mythology and an all-star cast. A young Prince, imprisoned in the form of a Beast (Dan Stevens), can be freed only by true love. What may be his only opportunity arrives when he meets Belle (Emma Watson), the only human girl to ever visit the castle since it was enchanted.

Trivia

According to Emma Watson, when Belle had to be intentionally struck in the face by a snowball, the whole sequence required numerous attempts, until a satisfactory hit was accomplished. In the end, Emma had to keep moving her face (target) into the line of fire, in order to increase the chances of a direct hit. See more »

Goofs

During "Belle", Belle buys a loaf of bread, places it in her pouch, and a few scenes later it is gone. This is due to a deleted scene where she gives Agathe the loaf of bread. See more »

Quotes

Cogsworth: Master, it's time.
Agathe: He taxed the village to fill his castle with the most beautiful objects, and his parties with the most beautiful people.

Crazy Credits

Part of the closing credits is a "curtain call" sequence that features the cast (appearing in poses) and crew (their credit with an image relating to their respective job). The sequence is framed with shots of the Beast's castle at sunset, and ends with a zoom shot of the Beast and the enchanted objects posing at the castle's entrance. See more »

User Reviews

Luke Evans is top notch as Gaston
17 February 2020 | by r96skSee all my reviews

It's good. I don't mind remakes, as long as they bring new, positive things into the mix - 'Beauty and the Beast' does that.

I don't have any noteworthy issues with it in truth, the casting is excellent while the musical pieces are put together nicely. Luke Evans is top notch as Gaston, he really brings his character to life. Ewan McGregor and Josh Gad also impress.
