Der Andere (1913)

** (out of 4)

German horror film has a man getting injured and soon getting a second personality. This second personality is a cruel man and he ends up helping a thief break into his own house not knowing any better.

I will admit right here that I had to watch this silent film with German title cards and I really couldn't follow that much of it. The basic premise is quite simple but obviously there are things I missed not having English subtitles. With that said, it's pretty simple to see why no company has come to the rescue as there's really not too much going on. We see the main character in a few different situations and while it's somewhat clear they're reworking Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, there's just very little entertainment here.
