At the death of their mother the elder sister makes a sacred promise to take care of the younger, and by so doing she sacrifices the love of her sweetheart, who refuses to assume the responsibility of the extra care, as he feels it is an injustice. This separation almost breaks two hearts for they love each other devotedly. The elder sister, true to her trust, toils incessantly to provide money for her sister's education, even sending her away to the city to study music. Here a young millionaire patron of music falls desperately in love with her and marries her. Her success is so great that she quite forgets the tremendous sacrifice her sister has made for her, and it is only when she learns that her sister is at the point of death that she is awakened to her sense of duty.
