- "I originally set out to make a documentary to explore the positive benefits of control or diminished use. What I actually uncovered was something far far darker" - Richard Grannon Plugged In explores how social media and smart phone usage has an effect on our younger generations, those who are now born into a world technologically ready and know nothing else - and how hard it is to remove this element from their lives in these modern times. It looks into the design of social media being a purposeful tool used to keep people hooked in, taken away from face to face reactions and how the attitudes towards people through these mediums have become darker. This topic is one that is very relevant and asks the question of what will happen if we continue to increase the use of social media, the effect this will have on our interactions from person to person and the nature of lifestyles in the future. It also asks if these forms if media were moderated and limited how peoples lives would change for the better, bringing us back the interactions of our older generations. "Plugged In" is presented and produced by Richard Grannon - a Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) master practitioner and has helped thousands of people by running courses to address mental health and overcoming narcissistic abuse. The project also heavily features Sam Vaknin, who is an author writing material around narcissistic personality disorders. About Richard Grannon Richard Grannon, NLP (neuro-linguistic programming) Master Practitioner, is passionate about helping people defend themselves, get back on their feet, and finally free themselves from narcissistic abuse. Richard attended Aston University, where he studied Psychology and trained under Richard Bandler, the co-developer of Neuro-Linguistic Programming. Much of Grannon's specific interest in narcissistic abuse originally stemmed from personal relationships - he'd witnessed it firsthand before and could tell something that something was wrong or "off," yet he couldn't quite identify it.
