- "From the upper windows of a ruined mill Cubans are firing at a scouting party of Spaniards, who return the volley. Fine smoke effects."
- A company of Japanese soldiers who have discovered the Russians near at hand, cautiously enter an old hut. The Russians suspecting that the Japanese are near at hand, move slowly, watching the brush carefully. One of the Russian officers approaches the house, hears the Japanese inside, and hastily summons the Russians, who surround the Japanese's hiding place and set it on fire. The Japanese, finding themselves trapped, make a dash into the open and engage the enemy at close range, inflicting heavy loss of life and putting them to flight, chasing the Russians for some distance through the fields. A large haystack is next shown with the Japanese in hiding behind it. Another detachment of Russians follows them up, and as they dash on recklessly, the Japanese shoot the greater part of them. Those not shot down make a wild dash across the fields to safety, but are followed by the Japanese, who shoot as they run.
- Left an orphan by the death of her mother, Margaret Weston goes to live with her father's old friend, Thompson, who has been appointed her guardian by her mother's will. Upon her arrival the guardian, a thorough man of the world, is greatly impressed with her youthful beauty, and it is not long before he begins showering her with unwelcome attentions, which, in view of their relations, she does not know how to avoid. Thompson hires a young landscape engineer to supervise some improvements at his country place, and when the young fellow meets Margaret it is a case of love at first sight. Thompson, angered at Margaret's refusal to marry him. and suspecting her fondness for the engineer, discharges him. The two lovers continue to meet, however, their clandestine trysts being arranged by Bartlett, an old servant, who is very devoted to the girl. One day Margaret accompanies Thompson and a party of mutual friends on a fox hunting expedition. She purposely allows her horse to drop behind and, finding a shady nook, settles down to dream of her absent lover. Thompson notices her absence, retraces his steps and finds her alone. He tries to kiss her and she resists his attempt. Angered, he seizes her just as Bartlett appears upon the scene. The old servant raises his rifle and fires. Thompson falls, and Bartlett, thinking he has killed his master, drops his gun and flees without having been seen by either Margaret or her guardian. It happens that on the morning of the day of the hunt, Bartlett and the engineer, both hunting, had met in the woods. Their rifles, just alike except for the initials of their owners carved in the butts, were interchanged. As a consequence, when the police find the young man's rifle in the bushes from which the shot was fired, he is suspected of trying to kill his former employer and thrown into jail. Margaret suspects that Bartlett fired the shot and sets herself to search for him. She finally locates him in an old hut where he has hidden from pursuit, and persuades him to come into court and tell the truth. The result is that Thompson is discredited, the engineer cleared and the court, deciding that Bartlett's shot was justified, sets him free. And it is not long before wedding bells ring out for Margaret and the engineer.
- Young Frank Mitchell, who terms himself a modern man of law, is summoned to draw up the will of Lady Darnley, who wishes to leave her entire estate to her favorite niece, Mable, and nothing to Bothwell, her nephew, except in the event of Mable's death, when he would inherit everything. Bothwell learns of the contents of the will and straightway plots to get Mable out of the way. He secures the assistance of Smith, a daring criminal, and the two take Mable by force to a deserted house, situated near a lake, just outside the city. Young Mitchell by accident hears of Mable's plight, and plans to rescue her. He makes his way to the deserted house and overhears a plot to kill the heiress. The criminals finally set fire to the house and the young lawyer rescues Mable. They find a rowboat and attempt to make their way to an island. Mable sleeps in the hut all night while Mitchell keeps guard outside the door. The hero and heroine are pursued by the criminal nephew and his aids, but are outwitted by the young lawyer. Detectives who have obtained a clew to the missing heiress, with the assistance of Mitchell, finally round up the gang in the young lawyer's office. Mitchell and Mable then discover they love each other and the drama comes to a happy conclusion.
- When Clay Morgan kills Joel Potter, Marshal Manning has to arrest the brother of the girl he plans to marry. When the Morgans effect Clay's escape, the Potters take Ann Morgan as a hostage. Manning is now caught in the middle and the two sides are about to fight it out.
- Four bandits swoop down on a California bank and flee with $98,000, leaving a truck as the only clue to their identity. Bank secretary Jane Hartman recognizes the truck as one on which her brother Charles worked. Fleeing to her brother, she is trapped by the gang: mastermind Gibbs, gunman Sidney, and blackballed airplane pilot Randall. Under threat of bodily harm to her brother, she lures truck driver Tony Andrews to the hideout and he is forced to help them in their escape attempt.
- The Lone Rider Tom assumes a former outlaw's identity (Keno) to learn where the gold from his last big heist is hidden. He tries to get the info from Blackie Dawson, but Blackie gets suspicious.
- Outlaws Slim Stevens and Hutch Dalton are amazed to see gold nuggets fall out of Cannonball's pockets one day in the frontier town of Crestview. They force Cannonball to reveal the location of a gold mine he has discovered. Slim, Hutch and their gang members make a beeline for the location, and trespass on the ranch of Big Bill Bailey in doing so. Bailey and his foreman Bob Wilson put up a fight but are losing when sheriff Lucky Crandall arrives and helps drive off the outlaws, but not before one of Bailey's men has been killed. Madge Duncan, Slim's sister, learns of the killing and refuses to let her brother hide in her home. The gang plans an ambush for Lucky, but Lucky has some plans of his own involving a counter-ambush.
- Bolton, trying to get the ranchers to leave, has his outlaw gang ambush all incoming supply wagons. Curly Thompson, out to stop them, gets framed for murder and put in jail.
- Following the Civil War, Federal Comissioner Shattuck has organized a gang to help him ride roughshod over the Texans. They rob a U. S. Army payroll wagon, kill the cavalry escort, make off with the $100,000 payroll, and frame Lieutenant Ross Kincaid for the crime. The latter is jailed in San Antion pending court martial. In Mustang, Texas, rancher Clint Wheeler leads a band who rob stagecoaches and distribute the money to local ranchers so they can pay the outrageous taxes Shattuck levys and hold onto their property until honest law-and-order comes. With the aid of "Happy" Daniels, Ross escapes jail and, assuming that Wheeler and his men are responsible for his plight, heads for Mustangs Wells, where he soon finds himself between the two factions.
- In 1878, Ward Kinsman, a prospector and Indian scout, is persuaded by the US Cavalry to find Mary Carlyle, the daughter of a general, who has been taken by Apaches.
- When three pinto-riding Wells Fargo messengers are killed, Ranger Johnny is sent, incognito, to Booneville to investigate. He is welcomed by Sheriff Ed Lowery, Wells Fargo agent Ben Williams, the latter's daughter Janet and his son Terry, who supplies horses for the Wells Fargo riders. Johnny tangles with Chet Murdock, a killer, in a saloon fight and also J notices that Mae Star, hotel proprietress, and Terry are outwardly sweethearts. Mae is actually using Terry to get information on the gold shipments, which are then hi-jacked by Murdock and his gang. Johnny, wishing to rest his own horse, borrows a pinto from Terry's corral and, while out riding the express trail, is ambushed by henchman Gus but Johnny shoots Gus instead. The dying outlaw tells Johnny he attacked him because he was riding a pinto of the type used by the express riders when they were carrying gold. Mae and Murdock, realizing the game is up, then decide to rob the Wells Fargo office and flee town. While Mae keeps Terry drunk in her saloon, Murdock kills Ben Williams and loots the Wells Fargo safe. Johnny arrives back in town and arrests the drunken Terry for complicity in the gold robberies. Mae slips Terry a gun and and helps him break jail supposedly to aid him to kill Murdock to avenge his father's death. But she leads him into a trap and Murdock cuts Terry down just as Johnny and the sheriff converge on the saloon.
- The "Rough Ridin' Kids" stir up a real hornet's nest when they become suspicious of a man named Big John Harkins, who is seen breaking in wild horses which are allegedly slated for the fertilizer-and-hide factory. At the same time, large amounts of counterfeit fifty-peso notes begin flooding Arizona near the Mexico border. That brings a Mexican police-chief Juan Reyes, posing as a bandit named Jalisco, to investigate.
- Rocky arrives to help his friend Nugget whose shipments are being robbed. Learning the gang only goes for incoming shipments, he figures they are repacking the loot and having Nugget ship it out. So he hijacks the next outgoing shipment finding a box labeled tools contains gold bars. Then posing as an outlaw he makes a deal with the gang hoping to round them up. But the boss learns he is a Marshal and he is made a prisoner.
- A mysterious masked rider and his gang are murdering ranchers and robbing stages. Government Agent Johnny Mack Brown has been called in to help the Sheriff. Capturing a henchman he learns of everyone involved except the boss, the masked rider. He eventually suspects the Wells Fargo Agent and has a plan that will trick him into a confession.
- When Range Rider and Dick blow open a safe, they are thrown in jail. Now they must break out of jail to stop the gold robbers from ambushing the stage in Coyote Canyon.

The murders are witnessed by young Jimmy Edwards who decides to say nothing about what he's seen. The men responsible, rancher Nate Crandall and his men, figure out Jimmy's secret and entice him to participate in a robbery at the Hotel in Tombstone, where the clerk is shot and Jimmy is setup to take the fall for the robbery.
