- "The ShoW" takes place at Michigan State University as they experience the college life in the dorms, at the bar, and all around campus. Founded in 1988 by Greg Harrison, "The ShoW" is a part of MSU Telecasters, a student-ran organization consisting of multiple other TV/web/video productions. It is also the longest running college television sitcom in the United States. The ShoW was established in 1988 by Scott Grayson and Greg Harrison with the pilot episode, "The ShoW Episode 1." The initial treatment description of this show upon creation was, "The story of The ShoW follows not necessarily the student lives, but the story of the students as they are connected to one another and the dorm room 3 East Wilson Hall. The beauty of The ShoW is that time moves forward, but the room transcends countless graduations and character changes to remain." In 2010, Nick Masters led the construction of Nicky O'Toole's bar as a replacement to "The Cafe" set that was traditionally used leading up to the new year. The bar now serves as the primary set piece for episodes of The ShoW, with the series following the current cast's adventures with everything from friendship to organized crime. The ShoW is America's longest-running college sitcom, running 32 years since its creation. It began as a talk/comedy show, evolving into a sitcom taped in front of a live studio audience before switching from multi-cam to single-cam productions in 2010. In 2016, The ShoW filmed their 100th episode, featuring the return of Jeff Witzke, Liz Riesterer, Patrick New, and Steve Van Wormer, alumni of The ShoW.
