- A spoiled rich girl is visited by her fairy godmother and turned into a maid.

However, one of his former victims, Lisa Howard, has tracked him down, confronts him, calls him "Ben", and threatens to reveal all to his latest mark, so he kills her during a struggle and stuffs her body in a steamer trunk, sending it to parts unknown, although we later learn she was buried in Sun Valley. Around the same time, a friend and associate inside the conman-now turned murderer's new milieu catches him in a lie, begins questioning the behavior of "Kohlmeyer" and becomes a bit too inquisitive for his own good.

To the consternation of his boss, Kojak insists on pursuing it as a homicide, calling attention to the total absence of personal items from her apartment. Her phone bill in the mailbox connects her to the Meadows family; her doorman provides leads regarding the males she entertained (including a judge). At her funeral, a young man shoots at Farley Meadows and is shot running away. Kojak finally puts the pieces together and arranges a confrontation in the Meadows home with all the suspects present.
- Joey, a young man who helped Mannix out on a previous case, shows up in the detective's apartment, injured from a beating. Mannix hides Joey and gets a call out to the police just before the apartment is overrun by hoods. Mannix is beaten and when he wakes up, Joey is gone. As the detective follows the trail, an organized front tries to buy Mannix off with a trip to Hong Kong on a supposed case. It turns out that the target of all this is a judge, whose daughter is in love with Joey. The syndicate wants to pressure the judge to move the site of a trial for an organized crime figure who is beginning to talk.
