As NCIS mourns the loss of Ducky, the agents find comfort in working on one of his unfinished cases involving a woman whose father was dishonorably discharged from the Marines.

A Medal of Honor recipient from WWII turns himself in and confesses to the team the murder of his friend 60 years ago.

While investigating an off-base burglary at an Admiral's residence, NCIS becomes involved in a case of an older man that claims to be a Pearl Harbor survivor. He wishes to have his remains buried on the USS Arizona.

Tony opens a letter, literally SWAK, dispersing a fine white powder; the gang does the drill. Kate and Tony get a free trip to Bethesda. Gibbs and company search for both the bad lady and what concerns her about a two-year-old rape case.

Tony returns early, in time to rejoin the team in an investigation of a shooting of two Naval aviators. Tony finds a bomb, then it explodes; Gibbs says that someone has again tried to kill the NCIS gang, which loses one of their members.

A special friend of Gibbs's daughter asks for help with a Marine sergeant, who has begun stalking her. Gibbs gives him the word, but soon someone abducts the friend and tortures and kills the Marine. Gibbs and Tony solve it and work it out.

An ambush in an alley behind a bar leaves one Marine dead and one very ill; the gang investigate. The survivor is from Gibbs's hometown, and the team goes there; flashbacks abound. The bunch put the pieces together and nail the bad guys.

The path leads to Alaska, where Gibbs and McGee go on a very long road trip. It's still all about getting information on the serial killer, Paul Lemere.

Gibbs and the gang continue to pursue Dearing, the explosions, and the disappearance of the director; Dearing continues to mess with Gibbs and Ryan. After another explosion and another death, disaster strikes at the Navy Yard. [Continued.]

NCIS comes under attack by a mysterious enemy from the past. Vance tries to mend fences with his estranged son by explaining why, despite the ongoing dangers of his job, he still chooses to stay at NCIS.

The NCIS team investigate a series of crime scenes that appear to be copycats of previous cases. Meanwhile, two of Gibbs' ex-wives show up at a crime scene to discuss something important with him.

After Ducky is attacked by a man claiming to have information about his half-brother who died decades ago, the NCIS team searches for the perpetrator, as Ducky recalls the final emotional days he had with his sibling. Also, with the holidays approaching, Bishop and Jake (Jamie Bamber) discuss the future of their relationship. Adam Campbell returns as "Young Ducky."

Ducky meets Ari, Tony follows Ziva, Ari secretly betrays Israel and Mossad, Ziva passes cash and a fake passport to Ari, Gibbs and Jen seek Ari but miss him, Ari finds Gibbs, and Ziva finds them. The gang attend Kate's funeral in Indiana.

Gibbs must face the consequences of helping Ziva with "the one thing" she said she'd take care of before returning to her family.

A human ear in the Potomac River leads to the rest of the body, wearing a uniform of a Navy petty officer; Gibbs and company investigate. Ziva's father shows up, as does his Iranian counterpart. Gunfire interrupts a dinner. [Continued.]

The team must investigate a prison escape without Gibbs as he heads to Stillwater after his father's death.

Gibbs tries to connect with a wounded Special Ops sniper when an American couple is attacked in the same area in Iraq where the sniper's team was ambushed.

In the aftermath of Jenny's death, Assistant Director Vance searches for Franks, who escaped the diner after killing the fourth gunman. Meanwhile, Tony and Ziva try to locate the one responsible, while dealing with the fallout of failing in their assignment to protect the Director. The trail points to a former hitman called Natasha, who Jenny failed to assassinate in Paris nine years previously while on an assignment that she and Gibbs were working on together. Since Gibbs killed Natasha's lover, Natasha has returned to the U.S. seeking revenge. Natasha, who never saw it coming, is killed by Franks, after Gibbs set a trap for her at Jenny's house. Gibbs burns down the house to cover up Jenny's death, making the public believe she died of smoke inhalation. In the fallout of Jenny's funeral, newly appointed Director Vance shreds a page from his personnel file in the Director's office and terminates Ziva's liaison status (sending her back to Israel), reassigns McGee to the cyber crime division, and sends Tony to the USS Ronald Reagan. Vance then gives Gibbs personnel files for his new team members.

The gang mourns the death of Kate; they recall her and deal with her death. Ari puts a round into Abby's lab, and the NCIS gets a new director, who shares a history with Gibbs. Ducky accepts an invitation to an unusual meeting. [Con't.]

Gibbs regains consciousness, but he's lost his memory since 1991. He starts to remember a few things; Jen helps, then an old buddy, then Ziva. Gibbs gets back his memory and a solution, gives a severe warning, becomes ignored, then quits.

A Navy lieutenant, a member of an international nuclear-inspection agency, asks Gibbs to solve the officer's own murder because he knows that someone has exposed him to radiation poisoning.
