- Strange things happen in the closed toilets of Eunhee's old school, where she was deputy head girl. Hayeong and Soyeon, who used the place as their hideout, believed there was a ghost there after they heard a humming sound echoing in the toilet, even when no-one else was present. With a plant pot discovered by chance as evidence, Hayeong believes the mystery is linked to Eunhee, and after being accused, Eunhee suffers from visual and auditory hallucinations. She is also convinced that she was called there after seeing female students with injured faces all over her old school.

When he and his comrades are tipped that Ito Hirobumi is going to make a tour of inspection to northern Manchuria, they plan to shoot at Ito Hirobumi, the Japanese ruler. Their attempt succeeds, but they are arrested and sent to jail. At court, An Jung-geun holds fast to his views about the cause of independence against Japan, but he is finally executed in prison.

Then, he realizes his stupidity, decides to forget her and harbor a hope in his mind.
- Father An is locked up in a basement by retreating North Korean soldiers while reconstructing his church ruined during the Korean War (1950-1953). The North Koreans hide in the basement with Father An and tries to escape the church by using him as a shield. Captain Choe Dong-ho of the South Korean Army has been chasing the remnants, but he cannot annihilate them because of the safety of Father An. However, thanks to the clever strategy of Captain Choe, the North Koreans are killed and Father An is safely saved.
- Son Hak-su (Kim Seung-ho) is a middle school teacher who barely gets by on his income because he's paying off a monthly mortgage for his welfare housing facility sold by the government. One day, Mr. Son and his wife make the acquaintance of a U.S. immigrant Charlie Hong (Heo Chang-kang). Charlie suggests to the couple that they invest money in a smuggling business he is engaged in. Enticed by Charlie's story of easy moneymaking, the wife persuades the husband to borrow money and lend it to Charlie. However, Charlie disappears with the money. Yeong-joon (Ahn Sung-ki), the son of the couple, leaves the house declaring he will find Charlie for his parents but soon dies due to a car accident. Son and his wife cry over the death of their son.
- Hwang Soon-bok is a father of four who isn't gifted with great looks. He likes to make plans on family occasions which in most cases, end in disaster. His wife, Koh Young-sook is a nice-looking lady with bit of a temper. And, there are three daughters and a son who got their looks and personalities from both parents. The family is sitting around a table eating late-night delivery food, on the night of the parents' wedding anniversary. The kids want to hear about how they got married and father and mother each tell their different versions of the story.

Mi-young goes to a high-class kisaeng house in Daegu. She meets Kwon Yong-su there and gets implicated in a series of events. On the other hand, Jin-su asks Mi-young to start anew. However, she is unable to accept. Mi-young tells Jin-su of her situation and then leaves him.
