- Adrian Semoti lives in the constant laps of his daily life since the separation of theatre actress Florina. One day Florina announces herself by sending back what he once gave her as a present. Neither new acquaintance nor family squabbling can distract him. The attempt to circumnavigate the final end of the relation, the separating couples bond inflames for the last time. A portrait of a relationship which seems not to be compatible with daily life. Attraction and rejection, desire and contempt lie close together.
- The sun has collapsed. The Apocalypse is 8 minutes away. The last few survivors have fled into the world of digital dreams, the Dream Machine. The machine delays the inevitable: it stretches the last 8 minutes to 12000 years. Inside this machine Lena and David try to find meaning in this world without a future.
- Marie Falke films her neighbors on Marienstrasse. Accompanied by one person for sound (she films herself), the filmmaker visits the tobacco seller, the shoemaker, the missionaries of a bible school, the French ballet teacher, the artist, the Indian cook. As long as they have an open door to the street, their portrait is made. The one principle is to film each and everyone only once. In this way, the film displays the freshness of the first encounter and tells of work and aging.
- A study of modern war aesthetics, the promotion of romanticizing and glorification of war.
- Gideon Bachmann instructs the young film student Marie with the inventory of his belongings. An enormous conglomeration of stories of a man who can be characterized as a witness of the 20th century. Trial and Error recounts the encounter between an old man who struggles with death and a young film student who's seeking stories. Gideon's biography and the study of his eclectic character are central motives of this film. In this manner the documentary establishes a discourse about life and death and comments on the ambivalent relationship between director and protagonist.
- Nine-year-old Moni experiences the hard and rough dynamics of a group of adolescents and the painful process of growing up, while the adult dramas in the family play out in the background. On weekends, a young family's farmhouse becomes the meeting place of a circle of friends. The impetuous group of children develops its own, childishly brutal dynamics. Power games and constant trial of strength drive them forward. Thus, they engage in war games, shoot at each other, trick each other and make fun of each other. Moni, as the youngest of the group, is at the bottom of the sociodynamic food chain. The appeal to her older sister's friend and the question of whether her father is really Moin's father form the ground noise of a weekend that seems to stretch on for an eternity. A film about the painful beauty of growing up.
