Mari embarks on a journey to El Salvador, Brazil, and Canada to meet and connect with her family members who have been separated for 40 years due to the Salvadoran Civil War.

The past is a shattered mosaic, made out of fragments of affections and memories. Maria cannot put the pieces into perfect order but she can give them new meaning. She starts a journey to her father's home in search for answers. Spiraling into her memories, she looks for guidance into healing her soul from the past.

In the largest city of Brazil, Lora is a free woman and full of presence, who revels another way to think about the situation of homeless people.

The movie tells the story of Sofia, a mysterious woman who walks to "Vila Clemência" Station hoping to catch a train, as the one she was on broke down. The station is in an isolated place and seems like it's been abandoned for a long time. Since the train doesn't show up, Sofia is forced to stay at the guesthouse that the National Railway Company offers to passengers who happen to end up there. And so begins her journey to try to leave that place and go after her husband, who left her for another woman. We see her interactions with the other passengers who live there, some of them for a long time, and like her, each one deals with the wait for a train that may come several times a year or may not come for over 10 years. They are lonely people brought together by chance, waiting for the train to show up at some point so they can take different paths.
