When Former Girlfriends Turn into Angry, Ravenous Zombies
9 February 2024
For some odd reason, a young man named "Zach" (Alex Hammel-Shaver) doesn't seem to have a difficult time dating women. The problem, however, is that it seems that all of the women he tries to build a relationship with him are extremely toxic. To the point that they all refuse to accept the fact that things are over between them and continually harass him into getting back together again. And although he resists all of these efforts, things become quite tense when his drunken friend "Dan" (Scott Keebler) casually enters his name into a televised dating game show. Not seeing any harm in it, Zach willingly goes along with it and shows up to the studio at the appropriate time. However, it's only then that he realizes that Dan also accidentally entered several of his former girlfriends to appear on the show as well. Even worse is the fact that the show's sponsor is offering a new drink which just happens to turn those who drink it into angry, ravenous zombies--and all of Zach's former girlfriends have plenty of it to drink. Now, rather than reveal any more, I will just say that I honestly didn't expect too much from this film and, as a result, I wasn't too disappointed with it once I finally finished watching it. To be sure, there were a couple of unique characters who were somewhat amusing--with the one former girlfriend who was always texting on her cellphone being the most comical, in my opinion. But even so, the action scenes tended to become rather redundant after the first 30 minutes or so, and from that point on it just wasn't that interesting or entertaining for me. Be that as it may, while this certainly wasn't the worst zom-com I have ever seen, I can't say it was something that I honestly enjoyed, and I have rated it accordingly. Below average.
