    The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (2001)

    Alternate Character: Boromir

    Genre: Fantasy, War

    Plot: The tragic hero Boromir leads the people of Gondor to many successful battles against the dark forces, but the strength of the people is crumbling. He hears of a ring of power, carried by a hobbit, which could hold be the key to defeating Sauron. A twist ending would have Boromir killed abruptly, and the fate of Gondor left to the viewer.

    Plot: Khan is exiled from the planet of his birth and launched away in a hibernation ship. He is found by a starship 200 years later. Instead of taking him back to his planet, they exile him and his crew on a planet. An accident in that solar system causes his planet to become inhospitable.

    When they are eventually discovered by another starship, Khan plans his revenge against the people who stranded him. He also comes across something called a Genesis Device which would allow him to create a paradisaical planet for him and his followers, but is killed in the explosion that sets off the device.

They then desecrate his body further by subjecting it to large amounts of electricity, somehow shocking him back to a partial life where he is unable to fully communicate with others.
