Studios Ignore Specific Demands for Abortion Safety Protocols in Collective Response to Showrunners’ Letters
After more than a thousand showrunners behind some of the most popular shows in the world mobilized to demand specific abortion safety protocols be put in place at the studio level, those studios answered with a collective response on Wednesday evening. The letter seeks to assure the showrunners that they share the same concerns, but does not address the specific demands the showrunners sought. It also ignores the call to cease donations to anti-choice politicians.

The response did, however, come in under the showrunners’ deadline for an answer, which was 11:59 pm Pt on Aug. 10. There was one notable absence about the studios,

So You Think You Can Dance Finale: Did the Right Dancer Win Season 17?

So You Think You Can Dance Finale: Did the Right Dancer Win Season 17?
For nearly three years, it seemed unlikely that So You Think You Can Dance would ever return — and once it did, the show arguably wasn’t the same.

The early weeks of Season 17 blew through audition and choreography rounds at a breakneck pace. The performance shows were pre-taped instead of live, and the only voters with any agency in weekly eliminations were those in the studio audience. And, of course, the season’s biggest headline was Matthew Morrison’s abrupt exit as judge, with Leah Remini (?!) stepping in as his replacement.

Ben Stiller Uses His Kids as a ‘Focus Group’ for ‘Severance’ Storylines
Ben Stiller is making his family dodge, duck, dip, dive, and dodge any spoilers about “Severance” Season 2.

The director and executive producer of the Emmy-nominated AppleTV+ series revealed to People magazine that he asks kids Ella, 20, and Quinlin, 17, to be a “focus group” for “Severance” plotlines…but his family would much rather Stiller undergo a Lumon severed procedure to keep his work and home life separate and avoid any Season 2 spoilers.

“My kids were sort of the first test screening for me in terms of when I was editing episodes,” Stiller shared. “I would show them and they started to get into it. I showed them at different times, but it was fun to have them as kind of a focus group to see what they reacted to.”

Yet as Stiller works on Season 2, his kids don’t want any spoilers.

“We have this ongoing debate about spoilers because I

‘Interview With the Vampire’ Series Team on Working With Intimacy Coordinators: ‘It’s Really Important’
The team behind AMC’s “Interview With the Vampire” series weighed in on the use of intimacy coordinators on set during a panel for the Television Critics Association summer press tour.

“We worked with an intimacy coordinator quite extensively,” series star Sam Reid said. “I think it’s really important working with an intimacy coordinator. I haven’t not worked with an intimacy coordinator for a number of years. I think it treats those scenes more like a stunt scene or a fight scene, so they’re choreographed as well as trying to keep some spontaneity in it. It was

Sam Levinson Won’t ‘Drag’ ‘Euphoria’ on Like ‘Lost,’ Breakout Star Angus Cloud Says
Angus Cloud is riding high when it comes to the viral success of “Euphoria.”

The hit series has shattered records on Twitter and made HBO viewership history — and that’s just after two seasons. Yet Cloud assures that creator Sam Levinson won’t let the show flame out much like other beloved series.

“I’m just excited to see what Sam comes up with,” Cloud told Variety about the show’s future. “He not going to drag it on like ‘Lost.'”

While Cloud and his fellow castmates Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, Jacob Elordi, and Hunter Schafer have yet to see a script or production timeline for Season 3, it’s clear that HBO will continue to back Levinson’s vision for the series. Zendaya even shared that she will make her directing debut with a Season 3 episode. Meanwhile, Levinson also is co-creating the music industry thriller “The Idol” with The Weeknd.

‘I Am Groot’ Creators on the Short Series’ Connection to the MCU and Baby Groot vs. Baby Yoda Debate
The Marvel Cinematic Universe has built its brand on connections: one film introduces a character who spins off into their own movie; a streaming series sets up a new star who cameos in another show; a mob of characters team-up in a group film and everything eventually leads to the current saga’s conclusion. And while the increasing web of link-ups across Marvel Studios’ various projects can be exciting for fans to unpack, for those who find it intimidating or exhausting, the studio’s new animated series “I Am Groot” offers a welcome reprieve.
