Nic Pizzolatto Helped Write the ‘Deadwood’ Movie — So David Milch Helped Write ‘True Detective’ Season 3

Nic Pizzolatto Helped Write the ‘Deadwood’ Movie — So David Milch Helped Write ‘True Detective’ Season 3
One of the more peculiar reports during the long development process of “True Detective” Season 3 was that David Milch had been brought in to help pen scripts. A TV legend who wrote on “Hill Street Blues” before creating “NYPD Blue” and “Deadwood,” Milch hadn’t written serialized television since HBO’s ill-fated 2012 series “Luck.”

So why did he come back now, and why this show?

It turns out that he was returning a favor. During a press conference in Beverly Hills Monday evening, Nic Pizzolatto said producer Scott Stephens introduced the two creators so the “True Detective” scribe could help with the “Deadwood” movie.

“We had gotten together because Scott is a producer on ‘Deadwood,’ and he had brought me in for a couple of weeks to sort of work for David on his ‘Deadwood’ film script,” Pizzolatto told reporters gathered at the Four Seasons hotel. “This was around when

Fresh Prince's Alfonso Ribiero Sues Fortnite for Stealing 'Carlton Dance'
Fresh Prince alum Alfonso Ribiero is sour over two popular videogames’ appropriation of the not-so-smooth moves he made as Carlton Banks.

How The Rolling Stones’ ‘She’s a Rainbow’ Got a Seven-Figure Synch Renaissance

As far as Rolling Stones chart hits go, “She’s A Rainbow” is more of a cult favorite in the band’s canon, just missing the Top 40 of Mick Jagger’s biggest Billboard Hot 100 hits of all time. But by 2018 standards, it’s suddenly become a smash — based on how many high-profile sync placements the song has received in the fourth quarter alone.

In June, Acura debuted a new TV campaign for its 2019 Rdx featuring an immersive score (and in-car chyron) from the 1967 single, one of two simultaneous campaigns featuring a Stones classic (although Motorhead handles duties for the other spot.
