The Ink Factory Rebooting Roald Dahl's "Tales of the Unexpected" For TV

The Ink Factory Rebooting Roald Dahl's
Exclusive: The Ink Factory has successfully mined the library of John le Carré with "The Night Manager" and "The Little Drummer Girl" and it seems that the company is now looking do the same with acclaimed British author Roald Dahl.

I hear that Simon and Stephen Cornwell’s firm is rebooting Roald Dahl’s "Tales of the Unexpected" for TV and has set up a number of writers to work on the project. The company is working closely with the Roald Dahl Estate on the project.

The series, which was originally produced by Anglia Television for British commercial broadcaster ITV between 1979 and 1988, told a different story each week with Dahl’s trademark sinister and comedic undertones with a twist at the end.

Ratings: ‘Dancing With the Stars’ Season Finale Settles for a New Low
ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars” handed out a Mirrorball on Monday, and in return it received a new low in overnight Nielsen ratings.

Let’s be very fair to “DWTS” — this was Season 27 we’re talking about. Plus, last night was still a season-best and the show’s numbers brought its home network to a tie for first place in the key adults 18-49 range and made ABC the outright winner in total viewers. Find out your winners here.

The dancing competition had set a new fall finale low in ratings last year, when it posted a 1.4 rating/5 share and had 9.2 million total viewers, per Nielsen’s fast-national ratings. This time around, it settled for a 1.3 and 8.6 million viewers.

It’s important to note that ABC had NFL preemptions in both Kansas City and Los Angeles Monday night,

"Salvation": Cancelled by CBS; No Season Three

Nobody's safe. CBS has cancelled its "Salvation" TV show after two seasons. During the second season, which finished its run on September 17, 2018, the science fiction thriller's ratings dropped significantly, so the cancellation has been expected.

A CBS suspense drama, 'Salvation" stars Santiago Cabrera, Jennifer Finnigan, Charlie Rowe, Jacqueline Byers, Melia Kreiling, Ashley Thomas, and Ian Anthony Dale. The story centers MIT graduate student Liam Cole (Rowe) and tech genius Darius Tanz (Cabrera), who discover that in six months, a huge asteroid will crash into the Earth. In season two, the truth is out. Now that it is no longer a secret, the impeding threat will elicit both the best and worst from humanity.

Will We Be Seeing a Full Metal Panic Season 5?

Full Metal Panic! was one of the mecha series that were popular in the 2000s. In short, it is centered on an ex-child solder named Sousuke Sagara, who has been tasked by the private military organization called Mithril to protect a high school student named Kaname Chidori. Chidori is important because she is one of the Whispered, who are people who have super-tech concealed in their subconscious, thus making them much sought-after by national governments as well as a wide range of other entities. With that said, Full Metal Panic! is characterized by mecha called Arm Slaves, which play a

The Voice Top 13 Results-Show Recap: Which Twosome Didn't Make the Cut?
Based on your comments following Monday’s recap of the performances by The Voice’s Top 13, you wouldn’t have minded if the show had sent packing just about all of the contestants — and me with ’em. (And people say I’m mean — da-amn!) Nonetheless, only two singers were played off on Tuesday. Before we found out which of the contenders they were, we of course had to sit through the usual results-show filler.

This time around, the hour was filled with clips of the singers receiving handwritten letters from their loved ones since they’d be away from home

What We Know about Evangelion 4.0 So Far

The Neon Genesis Evangelion’s final reboot is current on deck and set for release in 2020. This release has been more than five years in the making. In fact, the 4.0 build-out of the movie was slated for 2015. It is not completely clear as to why it has taken so long. Of course, production has played into the delay, but there is likely more behind it than production. The company responsible for producing the movie, Studio Khara, has not yet produced an official trailer; however, that does not mean that an unofficial trailer is unavailable. In fact, this past

Bravo's Dirty John Will Make You Want to Yell at the Screen (in a Good Way)

One of the main reasons Dirty John is so engrossing -- apart from the cast, which I'll get to in a minute -- is that we've all heard some version of this story.

Fox Networks Group Latin America Inks Music Biopic Pact With Underground

Fox Networks Group Latin America (Fng) is jumping on the music biopic bandwagon. The leading multi-platform group in the region has inked an agreement with Argentine shingle Underground to develop five original series based on the lives and careers of iconic Latin American pop and rock artists.

Fng’s move follows earlier series made by American Spanish-language broadcasters Univision and Telemundo, which sometimes made competing series on the likes of Luis Miguel, Nicky Jam, Selena, Jenni Rivera, Celia Cruz, and Juan Gabriel, among others. Some series have succeeded, others have faltered, and several have found more appreciative viewers on Netflix.

Barclays Doubles Fund for Streaming Content to $256 Million

Barclays Corporate Banking has announced a doubling to £200 million ($256 million) of its fund to help British TV producers develop content for streaming services.

The £100 million ($128 million) fund was launched in March 2017 in “response to the rapidly evolving TV production landscape,” according to a statement, with the rise of subscription video-on-demand services such as Netflix and Amazon Prime Video “changing the way that original programming is financed.”

Conventional TV production loans are usually repaid as the content is delivered, with the broadcaster paying the production company and funder simultaneously. With Svod, payment from the subscription service is often spread over a much longer term,
