It’s a heartbreaker for Heartstopper.
Emmy winner Olivia Colman will not return for the third season of Netflix’s British coming-out comedy.
“I couldn’t do number three. I couldn’t fit it in. I feel awful about that,” the actress who recurred as Sarah Nelson, mother to Nick Nelson (Kit Connor), told Forbes in a feature published Thursday. “I feel like I was part of one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever been part of.”
Series creator Alice Oseman responded to the news on her Instagram Story, explaining that the production “tried absolutely everything we could” to get Colman back for the role, but it “wasn’t meant to be, and that’s just the way the TV world works sometimes.”

Four years after Showtime’s award-winning Homeland ended its eight-season run, star Claire Danes and creator Howard Gordon are reuniting at Netflix.
The streaming giant has handed out a straight-to-series order for The Beast in Me, a limited series starring Danes and from showrunner Gordon.
Created by Gabe Rotter, Netflix says the mystery thriller revolves around “acclaimed author Aggie Wiggs, who since the death of her young son has receded from public life, unable to write, a ghost of her former self. But she finds an unlikely subject for a new book when the house next door is bought by Nile Sheldon, a famed and formidable real estate mogul who was once the prime suspect in his wife’s disappearance. At once horrified and fascinated by this man, Aggie finds herself compulsively hunting for the truth — chasing his demons while fleeing her own — in a game of cat and mouse that might turn deadly.

Following Bravo’s reboot of “The Real Housewives of New York City” last year, the network has announced that all six cast members are set to return for its upcoming Season 15. Yes, that includes even the ostensibly elusive, seemingly reluctant Jenna Lyons, who came into the show’s 14th season as the cast’s only famous person, and revealed herself over the course of the show to be a shy, charming oddball — and who, since the season premiered in July of last year, has been the subject of endless rumors speculating that she would not care to repeat the experience.

Hillary Clinton will appear on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon this coming Monday, April 1.
The former Secretary of State, First Lady, and 2016 Presidential nominee is no stranger to Jimmy Fallon’s Tonight Show: She has appeared on the program six times since 2015.
This will be former Sec. Clinton’s first appearance on a late night talk show since September 2022, when she appeared alongside daughter Chelsea Clinton on Late Night with Seth Meyers, a week after her most recent visit to Fallon.
Clinton and Fallon have a lot to talk about as the 2024 presidential race continues to heat up, with Democratic incumbent Joe Biden facing off against Donald Trump, who defeated Clinton in 2016.

Two-time Daytime Emmy winner Eileen Davidson, no stranger to dramatic tales since her soap debut as Ashley Abbott on The Young and the Restless in 1982, is tackling one of her biggest acting challenges yet: playing Ashley’s Dissociative Identity Disorder. The story began to take shape last year after Ashley and Tucker’s (Trevor St. John) marriage imploded in Paris. “Josh and I had been talking, and I happened to mention Ashley’s mental health issues [from the ’80s],” Davidson recalls. “He remembered and got really inspired by that. So, it was an offhand conversation about the character that tied in beautifully with what he’d already been writing.” Once Davidson became aware of the definitive plans for Ashley, she began researching Did. “When Ashley first had mental health issues in the ’80s, I went to Camarillo State Hospital,” she relays. “Now there’s Google. Joey King is no stranger to a shaved head. The actress has (so far) done away with her hair three different times for roles — and assumes she’ll probably do so again at some point.
With current discussion in Hollywood about artificial intelligence kicking way up, including what it can and can’t do, and the ways it may change how actors work, IndieWire asked King how shaving her head helped her performances. Specifically, if potentially not having to do so in the future, thanks to technological advances, appealed to her or would it change something about how the actress preps.
“So I’ve done it three times, and I have to say, I think it was really important each time,” King told IndieWire. “Every woman has struggled over the years to define what beauty means to me. I do think [shaving my head] was so helpful in terms of not being attached...

When you think of the greatest teen drama romances, it’s easy to automatically gravitate towards the classics: Pacey and Joey, Willow and Tara, Rory and Jess, and whichever side you were on with the love triangle between Brooke, Lucas, and Peyton. While the ’90s and ’00s were certainly full of great ships, there are also plenty of incredible couples from more recent teen shows worth talking about. Today’s streaming-dominated landscape may mean fewer slow burns, but there have also been positive developments: more characters of color at the center, increased LGBTQ+ representation, and less reliance on problematic tropes. It’s highly unlikely we would have gotten a YA show like Netflix’s Young Royals — which centers on a queer, interracial relationship — back in the early 2000s.

When Christina Hager went to bed Wednesday night, she had no idea she was about to be name-checked on national TV.
But to hear her tell it, she woke up the next morning to text messages from “everyone I’ve ever met.”
Hager’s moment in the sun came when a story she reported for CBS affiliate Wbz was featured on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert as part of the show’s “Meanwhile” segment Wednesday night.
In Hager’s original reporting for Wbz, she tested the veracity of online Pet DNA services by swabbing her own cheek, only to be returned results from one company indicating that she was 40% Alaskan Malamute, 35% Shar-Pei and 25% Labrador.
“Which is shocking,” Colbert joked. ”Until you see Christina Hager,” at which point an image of a reporter with the face of a dog was shown holding a Wbz microphone.

Despite this slight mispronunciation, Sajak quickly replied, “That is correct.” The long-time host even told Rogers, “Lovely annunciation and everything.” However, viewers at home weren’t so quick to let Rogers off the hook, taking to social media to share their reactions. “This lady on #wheeloffortune just said “Everglade National Park” and got credit for the puzzle. This past Monday night on The Daily Show Jon Stewart called Kevin O’Leary an asshole.
It was no big deal. It wasn’t even really a joke because Stewart seemed really to just be making a personal observation about the long-time Shark Tank business “shark,” saying he is “such an asshole even the other people on Shark Tank think he’s an asshole.”
No bleeping, of course, because Comedy Central is a cable network and so not vulnerable to complaints that could threaten the broadcast license bestowed on television stations by the Federal Communications Commission.
Those licenses still exist, though what sort of entity needs one is somewhat poorly understood, as Donald Trump demonstrates every time he rails at CNN or MSNBC for questioning his fitness to be president and demands that their licenses be revoked.

Of course, not everyone fared quite as well as the 118’s Mom and Dad this week. For starters, remember that guy who “just wanted to cash out” on the ship? Well, he cashed out all right… from life. He was the episode’s first official victim, leaving just a handful of survivors to make their way off the boat.

During its two-season run on HBO, “Euphoria” has launched its young cast into superstardom and won multiple Emmys, while also being a magnet for controversy — but whatever lies ahead for the Sam Levinson-created show is going to have to wait.
Earlier this week, HBO officially delayed the drama, which was set to begin production later this spring. “HBO and Sam Levinson remain committed to making an exceptional third season,” an HBO spokesperson told Variety. “In the interim, we are allowing our in-demand cast to pursue other opportunities.”

“Euphoria” star Storm Reid has acknowledged the recent news from HBO that filming of Season 3 on the Sam Levinson-created series has been put on hold, expressing optimism that the production will come together down the line.
“I would hope the viewers, the audience will be able to finish the show,” Reid tells Variety, speaking Thursday at the opening of USC’s School of Dramatic Arts’ Drama Center in Los Angeles. “I think we should handle the show with care. We’ve put our hearts and soul into it.”

Jeopardy!‘s Invitational Tournament continues to rage on and it was a close call for a fan-favorite in the March 28th quarterfinals match between Sam Kavanaugh, Chuck Forrest, and Monica Thieu. As a five-game champion from Season 35 and 2021 Tournament of Champions winner, Sam has been a recent favorite among viewers of the game show. But things weren’t looking good for Sam early on as he entered Double Jeopardy with a meager $200 against Chuck’s $2,600 and Moncia’s impressive $8,200. Things began to turn around for Sam in the Double Jeopardy round as he snagged both Daily Doubles delivering correct responses for clues in the categories “Art Terms” and “Science.” In both instances, he added thousands to his score, leaving him at a marginal lead over Chuck’s $11,000 with $12,000. Still, Sam was trailing behind Monica’s $15,800 as they entered Final Jeopardy. The category was “20th Century Books” with the clue being,...

What happens when you plan an extravagant worldwide tour… and nobody shows up?
That, unfortunately, seems to be the case for Girls5eva, the sharp and sassy music-industry comedy that moved from Peacock to Netflix for its third season this month. The show — staring Sara Bareilles, Renée Elise Goldsberry, Busy Philipps and Paula Pell as the members of a forgotten Y2K-era girl group attempting a middle-age comeback — was never properly appreciated during its two Peacock seasons, and it felt like a lifeline when it got picked up by Netflix for Season 3, since the streaming giant routinely turns its acquired shows into monster hits.

Vince McMahon, the founder and former CEO of wrestling entertainment company WWE, received about $100 million through a sale of about 3.5 million shares of Tko Group.
Tko Group was formed last year through the Endeavor-led merger of UFC and WWE. Endeavor maintains a majority interest in Tko.
McMahon’s latest sale of Tko stock comes after he netted $408 million through a separate sale of shares earlier this month, and after he sold 8.4 million shares of Class A common stock in Tko — worth $670 million — last November. All told, to date he has earned almost $1.2 billion through Tko stock sales.

Outside of having one of the greatest rom-com plots of all time (if not the greatest), When Harry Met Sally boasts some of the most gorgeous nature shots of New York City ever caught on film. Billy Crystal reveals to TV Insider that weather almost deprived us of one of its most picturesque scenes. Had they waited just one more day to film it, they would have lost the perfect shot. When Harry Met Sally shows the changing seasons so idyllically. Crystal tells TV Insider its cinematography is “underrated in that way.” One of the film’s most famous moments takes place in Central Park. In it, Harry (Crystal) and Sally (Meg Ryan) stroll through the park talking about their odd sex dreams before going to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. They’re surrounded by gorgeous autumn leaves in the scene. “It was timed that way,” Crystal says. And the timing was kismet.

Larry David railed against “little baby” Donald Trump in a recent interview on CNN’s “Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace?” The “Curb Your Enthusiasm” and “Seinfeld” creator has long spoken out against Trump, even having his fictionalized “Curb” self wear a Make America Great Hat in a Season 10 episode because it’s a “a great people repellant.”
“How much has the 2020 election — and everything that has flowed from it — pissed you off?” Wallace asked David.
David fired back that he “can’t go a day without thinking about what [Trump has] done to this country because he’s such a little baby.

As if TikTok, Instagram’s Reels, and Snapchat haven’t zapped Gen Z’s attention spans enough, YouTube is now experimenting with a feature that allows users to automatically jump to the best parts of a video.
Our doom-scrolling society is doomed.
“We’re running a very small experiment in the U.S. for a Premium-only feature that combines user-watched behavior data and AI to help identify the next best point a viewer particularly wants to skip ahead to,” the on-camera host of the “Creator Insider” channel on YouTube, run by YouTube’s creator-facing technical team, said in the video announcement.
Here’s how it works: If a viewer is already double-tapping to skip ahead (10 seconds) on what is considered an “eligible segment,” YouTube will display a “Jump Ahead” button that takes the viewer to what the data and AI tells them is the next point in the same video...

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for American Rust: Broken Justice.] American Rust has returned for Season 2 on Prime Video under the new title American Rust: Broken Justice, and with it comes a big question: Is this season based on a book? American Rust‘s first season, which originally aired on Showtime and is now streaming on Prime Video, was inspired by Philipp Meyer’s 2009 novel of the same name. But Broken Justice deviates from the source material, instead building upon the story that unfolded in Season 1. (Credit: Dennis Mong / ©Showtime / Courtesy Everett Collection) Season 1 also swayed from its source material, taking the basic structure and plot and repurposing it for television. Now, in Season 2, Del Harris (Jeff Daniels) is moving beyond his former role as Buell’s police chief to take on a gig at the Pittsburgh Pd in an effort to infiltrate a circle of dirty cops. Everything that takes place this time around is made up entirely ...

As The Girls on the Bus approaches the halfway mark of the season, it's no longer controversial to say that the Max series is wholly divorced from reality. Critics are in agreement that the drama, based on Amy Chozick's 2018 memoir Chasing Hillary, fails to accurately depict journalism and life on the campaign trail; co-creators Chozick and Julie Plec even embrace escapism as protagonist Sadie McCarthy (Melissa Benoist), a reporter for New York's biggest paper, compares presidential candidates to contestants on The Bachelor and daydreams about Scott Foley's small-town mayor stripping to Ginuwine's "Pony." But Episode 4, "Two Americas," offers the show's most egregious moment of fantasy yet as socialist, Gen Z influencer Lola (Natasha Behnam) and Fox News stand-in Kimberlyn (Christina Elmore) go to battle, only to lay down their arms in the name of friendship.

Disney has a new hero in Renegade Nell. Derry Girls‘ Louisa Harland anchors the series as the titular Nell Jackson (not Nellie!), whose sudden superpowers gifted to her by the magical spirit Billy Blind (Ted Lasso‘s Nick Mohammed) make her everyone’s prime target. Be they friend or foe, Nell leaves everyone in awe of her strength and skill — things she must put to good use when she’s framed for murder and goes on the run to prove her innocence and protect her family. Co-starring in the series created by Sally Wainwright, the mind behind Happy Valley and Gentleman Jack, are Joely Richardson as Lady Eularia Moggerhanger and Alice Kremelberg as Sofia Wilmot. Eularia is more obsessed with Nell, whereas Sofia is her green-with-envy nemesis. “Sofia would be incredibly jealous that she has this power. She’s never seen anyone do anything like this,” Kremelberg tells TV Insider above.
