"The Punisher" & "Jessica Jones" Canceled By Netflix

  • Deadline
Exactly a month after the launch of its second season on Netflix, Marvel’s The Punisher has had to bite the bullet as has Jessica Jones.

As the only two series from the TV arm of the comic giant still left on the streamer, there will be no Season 3 of the Jon Bernthal led vigilante series, I’ve learned. The completed third season of the Krysten Ritter starring Jessica Jones will still appear on the streamer but will be put on ice for good after that.

This marks the end of the multi-series, big bucks and big ambitions relationship between Marvel and Netflix that started in 2013 with the announcement of four series and a The Defenders limited series.

“Marvel’s The Punisher will not return for a third season on Netflix,” Netflix confirmed today to Deadline. “Showrunner Steve Lightfoot, the terrific crew, and exceptional cast including star Jon Bernthal,

Friday Ratings: Fox’s ‘Proven Innocent’ Starts Soft, But ‘Last Man Standing’ Tops Demos
Another Friday, another demo win for Fox’s Last Man Standing, as back-to-back episodes dominated the demo ratings shares, scoring a 1.1/6 and 6.12 million viewers at 8 PM, then staying strong with a 1.0/5 and 5.63 million at 8:30 PM.

But the twin knockouts didn’t particularly help Fox’s new legal drama Proven Innocent, which debuted to an 0.5/3 and 3.09 million at 9 PM, going up against tough competition elsewhere.

On CBS, the debut of Levy Tran as a new character on MacGyver saw it score an 0.7/4, but a huge 6.42 million in viewers. That spurred follower Hawaii Five-O to 0.8/4 and 7.27 million viewers, with 10 PM’s Blue Bloods scoring the night’s top total viewers with 8.87 million viewers and demos of 0.8/4.

CBS also won the overall network race, scoring an 0.8/4 and 7.52 million.

At ABC, the 8 PM Fresh Off The Boat had a 0.7/4 and 3.14 million viewers as the lead-in to Speechless, which had an 0.5/3 and 2.35 million viewers.

How Live Pd Helps Build Community Relationshops

Like its name suggests, Live Pd is one of a number of unscripted shows that are based on the premise of following police officers in the course of their duties and responsibilities. This means that the show offers live feeds from a number of law enforcement agencies, though in practice, the footage is delayed for a few seconds to even a few minutes because of the need to prevent inappropriate material from being shown on the TV screen. Regardless, it is interesting to note that the participants on Live Pd have shown a wide range of responses to their experiences.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Stars on Keeping Clark Gregg's Season 6 Return a Secret, How His New Role Is a 'Treat for Fans'

When TVLine visited the Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. set in December, Chloe Bennet spoke of how Daisy has been mourning former director Phil Coulson. At the time — as with many things Marvel — one had to wonder if semantics were at play. But as since has been double-secret confirmed, the team’s director did in fact succumb to his fatal affliction.

“I wasn’t lying,” Bennet said when we reconnected at ABC’s TCA party earlier this month. “We have been mourning Coulson.”

And yet, Clark Gregg will be back for Season 6 (premiering in May), news that only recently came to the fore.

Five Memorable Guest Appearances on Will and Grace

You either love Will & Grace or…you just need something to watch. It’s kind of hard to hate this show since it is rather upbeat and does have a lot of colorful and very engaging characters. One other thing that’s great about it is that the show does feature a lot of guests that are rather famous and while some of them have been recurring in the past others have kind of come and gone, making an appearance now and then and then moving on. While those that stick around are there to satisfy a plot point they’re still typically

Mandy Moore Opens Up About Her Marriage to Ryan Adams: ‘I Was So Sad’
Mandy Moore opened up about her marriage to Ryan Adams on Monday’s episode of Marc Maron’s “Wtf” podcast. While the interview was taped before the publication of the Feb. 13 New York Times report in which multiple women, including Moore, accuse Adams of sexual misconduct or emotionally abusive behavior, she speaks freely about the “unhealthy dynamic” in the marriage, which lasted from 2009 to 2016.

“I was living my life for him,” Moore says on the show. “It [was] an entirely unhealthy dynamic. I had no sense of self.

“I felt like I was drowning,” she continues. “It was so untenable and

10 Things You Didn’t Know about Phor Brumfield

Phor Brumfield is a guy that you really have to know of to get into since he belongs to a channel, or crew, that isn’t everyone’s cup of tea so to speak. His profession is one that a lot of people utilize and a lot of folks with a great deal of creative talent get into, but it’s still one that society seems divided on at times. Tattoos are more or less an expression of someone’s inner desires, needs, or self-expression that allow them to show people what they might be feeling on the inside. Phor is one of those

Five Cartoons to Watch if You Like “Bob’s Burgers”

Bob’s Burgers is essentially a show depicting a working-class family that’s just trying to get by and do the best they can while struggling to keep up with a world that isn’t always fair but is isn’t bound to slow down for them. The business that the family runs beneath their apartment is their livelihood and is the only thing they really have. In a way the cartoon has a sense of hope and normalcy to it, but then again there’s just something that one can’t deny is kind of odd and a bit awkward at times. That’s the whole

10 Things You Didn’t Know about Lizzy Caplan

You’ve probably seen Lizzy Caplan in a number of productions and been kind of impressed. If you’re like a lot of people though you might initially mistake her for Emily Blunt, at least until you look closer and notice that she doesn’t have an English accent and is kind of more loose with her attitude than Emily is. Lizzy is the kind of person that is absolutely fabulous in the roles she plays since she uses sarcasm the same way others use dramatic pauses to build up tension in a scene. She’s just as good at performing in a dramatic

‘Veep’ Trailer: Final Season Filled with Even More Campaign Craziness

We’re still a year away from the craziest part of the actual presidential election campaign, but leave it to Selina Meyer to kick things off as only she can.

When last “Veep” left off, the HBO series hinted that the former President might be trying to find a way back into the highest office, courtesy of a constitutional loophole. Even though her stalwart assistant Gary (Tony Hale) is in tow as usual, she’ll face the unlikeliest of foes, as Jonah Ryan (Timothy Simons) stands opposite her in the race.

Of course Jonah is incapable of kissing a baby properly and eating a corn dog like a regular human being. This trailer also hints that the open questions of Selina’s daughter Catherine’s (Sarah Sutherland) new child and the ongoing attempt to craft a tell-all memoir are each going to figure into these upcoming final “Veep” episodes.

Madam Secretary: Chaos in Nicaragua. Russell Becomes Panda Man.

We have all done things in the past that we’re not particularly proud of. That we are afraid to make the same mistakes as we did then. In this week’s episode of Madam Secretary, President Dalton must come to terms with his own past to help Elizabeth free fourteen American missionaries in Nicaragua. That, and stop a civil war from breaking out amidst the chaos and protests that erupted. The process to ensure that the aforementioned civil war doesn’t break out is, obviously a tedious one. Options were presented but then thrown into the metaphorical trash can when it didn’t work

Riverdale Romance Report: Who's Hooking Up (And Who's Still Single)

Another Valentine’s Day has come and gone in Riverdale… and the couples look a lot different than they did a year ago, don’t they?

With the CW teen drama taking a mini break at the moment — new episodes won’t return until Wednesday, Feb. 27 at 8/7c — we thought we’d check in on how everyone’s love lives are shaping up midway through Season 3. Sadly, one of the show’s foundational pairings has already broken up: Archie and Veronica went their separate ways when Archie fled town after busting out of juvie, and both have since moved on

Why Cameron Monaghan Needed to Return to ‘Shameless’

Shameless has endured a lengthy and very odd story line that has seen each member of the family evolve in a way that has been hard to watch at some points and makes you wonder how such a family would possibly endure one another, let alone their drunken louse of a father. Add to that an absentee mother that abandoned them and you’ve got a family that’s rife with issues and just looking to make the nearest shrink an instant millionaire in an ideal world. But getting down to the point of the article it seems that Cameron Monaghan was

Veep: Selina Meyer Hits the Campaign Trail (Again) in Final Season Trailer
It’s been nearly two years since an episode of Veep aired on HBO — but Selina Meyer hasn’t changed at all during her time away.

The premium cabler on Monday (aka Presidents Day, fittingly) released a trailer for Veep‘s seventh and final season, which will find Selina making yet another play for the presidency. And if you thought she could get through a campaign without swearing, ridiculing her staff or insulting most of the American people, you’d be very, very wrong. There is literally so much that can be said about Orson Welles that it could and has filled books simply based on his upbringing, his hardships, and his decision to make his way towards show business.
