While these allegations are very disturbing, we are placing our trust in the legal system as the process plays out. We are also aware of the effects of this process on the cast and crew members who work on our show and to avoid further disruption on set, we have decided to remove the role of ‘Jamal’ from the final two episodes of the season.”

Fox had previously issued multiple statements in support of Smollett,

Dreaming of a Hollywood Ending for Actors With Disabilities (Guest Column)

Dreaming of a Hollywood Ending for Actors With Disabilities (Guest Column)
Picture a world in which an actor with a disability wins an Academy Award. Sadly, that storyline remains no more than a Hollywood fantasy.

In recent years, the #OscarsSoWhite trending hashtag campaign has shed light on the lack of diversity in the movie industry. Yet ahead of this year’s Oscars on Feb. 24, society’s definition of diversity all too often remains narrow and only encompasses race and ethnicity.

Ever since Dustin Hoffman won Best Actor in 1989 for playing a protagonist with autism in “Rain Man,” about half of the Best Actor winners have also portrayed people with disabilities or illnesses.

‘Wynonna Earp’ Season 4 In Limbo, Despite Greenlight From Syfy

Twitter followers of the show “Wynonna Earp” demonstrated the power of a scared fanbase over the last 24 hours, as issues involving the production company Idw may affect the return of the show for a fourth season.

The Syfy paranormal drama, which features the demon-hunting descendant of Wyatt Earp, has become a fan favorite for its inclusive storytelling (including a long-running lesbian romance) and quick wit. “Earp” was renewed by Syfy for a fourth season in July 2018, as revealed during the show’s San Diego Comic-Con panel. However, Deadline reported Friday that Idw at this time “cannot proceed with production on a fourth season.”

The “Earp” cast, along with creator Emily Andras, are quite active on social media, and Thursday afternoon a series of comments on Twitter indicated that fans might have reason to be concerned about the show’s future. Andras initially commented on Twitter that fans might need to

Sam Richardson Is Pretty Ticked Off, and It’s Kind of Great

Sam Richardson Is Pretty Ticked Off, and It’s Kind of Great
For an actor whose onscreen persona is built around being the nicest guy in the room, Sam Richardson is audibly angry over the fate of his first series, “Detroiters.”

“I should be more careful how I speak, I guess, because we’re still trying to sell the show to whoever we can, and I guess I don’t want Comedy Central to nix the deal because of my loose lips,” Richardson said in an interview with IndieWire. “But at the same time, I’m also very frustrated.”

There is no evident salvation awaiting “Detroiters.” Despite Comedy Central’s attempts to sell the show, support from various critics, and even an open letter from Seth Meyers, a last-second renewal is a long-shot six months after cancellation. What’s left is a show with a legacy worth preserving and an actor, producer, and creator who deserves to create more projects of his own.
