Bobby Bones will have to keep that Mirrorball trophy well-polished for a full year.

Dancing With the Stars, which has long aired two seasons per calendar year, is skipping a Spring 2019 cycle, TVLine has confirmed.

Though it’s not yet clear what prompted the competition series to sit out a midseason run, Dancing is coming off a controversial 27th season. After multiple well-scored frontrunners were eliminated prematurely (including R&B singer Tinashe and Fuller House actor Juan Pablo Di Pace), the Mirrorball was ultimately awarded to country radio DJ — and very dark horse — Bobby Bones, who had scored much lower than his three fellow finalists.

The docuseries will be directed by Joe Berlinger, who is helming a separate scripted film about the serial killer, “Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile,” which stars Zac Efron as Bundy, and will premiere at Sundance.

The four-part series will feature previously unheard audio of interviews with Bundy while he was on death row in Florida. This unique and gripping doc series focuses on the man whose personality, good looks and social graces defied the serial-killer stereotype, allowing him to hide in plain sight as he committed the brutal sex-crime slayings of more than 30 women before being caught in 1978. While on trial, Bundy received extraordinary adoration from American women, which made his gruesome crimes doubly haunting, even in an era of anything-goes mayhem.

It will premiere on Jan 24, 2019, 30 years after the date of his execution in Florida.

Hugh Grant: ‘A Very English Scandal’ Reminds Him of Brett Kavanaugh
Hugh Grant resisted television, and it took “A Very English Scandal” director Stephen Frears and writer Russell T. Davies to convince him to make the leap. It was his first TV project since the early 1990s — and it just earned him a Golden Globe nomination for Best Performance by an Actor in a Limited Series or a Motion Picture Made for Television, and one from SAG for TV Movie or Miniseries — Male Actor.

“I was the last of the snobs about television,” Grant recently told IndieWire’s Turn It On podcast. “People tell me that everyone else has gone back to television, or what they call television. But it’s not really telly, is it? It’s streaming, really. I’ve only recently worked out how to use this stuff. My 7-year-old daughter teaches me how to use Netflix.”

Grant said he sees the streaming world as a TV/film hybrid,

Benjamin on ‘Mrs. Maisel’: He’s Just a Tall, Handsome Prop — And That’s Ok

Benjamin on ‘Mrs. Maisel’: He’s Just a Tall, Handsome Prop — And That’s Ok
[Editor’s Note: The following article contains spoilers for “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” Season 2, mainly about Benjamin.]

When Zachary Levi wanders onto screen about midway through “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” Season 2, it’s a bit of a shock. After all, this is Chuck from “Chuck.” He’s Shazam from “Shazam!” (aka DC’s funny new superhero movie). He’s at least kind of a big deal, and even though his casting was announced in May, he wasn’t touted in the trailers or built up to in the story. He just sort of… shows up.

And then, just as abruptly, he’s gone. Despite the actor’s pedigree and the prominent amount of screen time Benjamin occupies in Amazon’s second season, he’s ditched as unceremoniously as he arrived. It’s not that Benjamin doesn’t matter; he’s perhaps the most integral aspect of a season that regularly drifts from Midge’s journey to stand-up stardom. Still: He’s not a fully-formed,

However, for the average television viewer — and even members of Variety‘s dedicated, professional staff — the limit has been reached.

Here, Variety staff selects the series they had to leave behind in 2018 — from the longest-running staple of Dick Wolf’s “One Chicago” franchise,
