TV Review: Peter Dinklage in HBO’s ‘My Dinner With Hervé’

TV Review: Peter Dinklage in HBO’s ‘My Dinner With Hervé’
Hervé Villechaize, most familiar for his turn on “Fantasy Island” before his premature death, is an unlikely biopic subject. As the assistant Tattoo on the TV drama, Villechaize was treated as if his short stature made him a supernatural freak. His cultural impact has been an accented catchphrase (“De plane!”) and his status as a widely known, and generally patronized, little person. It’s a story that seems too sad, and too sadly marginal, to entice viewers.

My Dinner With Hervé,” HBO’s film about a late-in-life Villechaize, isn’t quite a reclamation project. It doesn’t do enough to center his story,

Hulu Eyes Cheaper Live TV Bundles That Strip Out Entertainment Cable Networks

Hulu wants to cater to a new crowd of pay-tv “cord-shavers” with stripped-down, less-expensive live television bundles that include sports, news and on-demand content — dropping linear entertainment networks to save costs.

Hulu CEO Randy Freer sketched out the concept in an interview with The Information published Tuesday, saying that the skinnier bundles would be designed to appeal to a cohort of price-sensitive users and prove more profitable by cutting out carriage fees for multiple networks. Instead, Hulu subscribers would have access to on-demand programming licensed from cable networks.

But at this point, Hulu doesn’t have any specifics on what

‘100% Fresh’ Trailer: Adam Sandler’s Netflix Variety Special has New Songs and Dogs on Stage

‘100% Fresh’ Trailer: Adam Sandler’s Netflix Variety Special has New Songs and Dogs on Stage
Adam Sandler is at the point in his career (particularly in his expansive Netflix contract) where if he wants to bring his bulldog out on stage during a live show, that’s just something he does.

That’s just one element of “100% Fresh,” a collection of live performances that Sandler’s done, mainly around the La area, over the past year. Armed with a Champion jacket, his trademark “funny” voice, and a flotilla of guitars acoustic and electric, the official trailer for his new special shows him playing to crowds of various sizes at both indoor and outdoor venues.

The special made waves back in April when Paul Thomas Anderson showed up at a taping for some additional camerawork. “100% Fresh” is directed by longtime Sandler collaborator Steven Brill.

Whether or not this special leans more toward “The Meyerowitz Stories (New and Selected)” or “The Ridiculous 6” in the greater Adam

Arrowverse 'Elseworlds' Crossover Poster Reveals Superhero Switcheroo

The CW on Tuesday unfurled the poster for this year’s three-night, Legends-less Arrowverse crossover event, and it will have you looking and Green Arrow and The Flash in a whole new way.

The “Elseworlds” theme is a nod to the DC Comics imprint that served up storylines that perhaps existed outside of regular continuity. Ergo the poster’s “Destiny Will Be Rewritten” tagline.

But where is Supergirl, the third piece of the crossover? (Dare we hope that she and Batwoman have swapped alter egos in this narrative??)

The poster reveal comes on the heels of the unveiling of Ruby Rose

Stuntman Damien Walters Does Assassin’s Creed Leap of Faith: 125 Ft in 2.79 Seconds

There was this Reddit post going around about a year ago which is pretty insane. It’s of the Assassin’s Creed Leap of Faith that will take place in the movie that comes out in December of this year. While I’ve shared the edit below, I have to admit it’s a little annoying with regard to the editing. So I’ve also shared the source video above. It’s crazy man Damien Walters who performed the stunt for Michael Fassbender. According to the stats, Walters jumped from 125 feet up, took 2.79 seconds and landed going 61.1 mph on impact. Perfectly understandable that

Chris Gethard Knows What It’s Like to Write a Book About Failing While Your TV Show is Ending
While writing “Lose Well,” Chris Gethard sensed that by the time it was published, the circumstances of his career might be a little different. That led him to crafting a sort-of self-help book that, well, helped himself.

“It was about about a month before I had the meeting that officially ended ‘The Chris Gethard Show,'” said Gethard, referring to his unclassifiable cable-spanning talk show. “It was such a weird bittersweet feeling to know that we were locking the book and I was like, ‘I think the show might be done.'”

At the end of May, “The Chris Gethard Show” ended after nearly 50 episodes on cable, following a robust four-year life on public access. Throughout “Lose Well” there are vague references to the show’s potential imminent demise.

“I think this book is as much an ending to the TV show as the final episode itself,” he said. “Even
