‘The Cool Kids’ Gets Back 9 Pickup From Fox For Full-Season Order
Fox has picked up nine additional episodes of new multi-camera comedy series The Cool Kids, bringing the full-season order to 22 episodes. It joins its Friday companion, the breakout Last Man Standing revival, which had a full-season 22-episode order from the start.

The Cool Kids has done a respectable job holding onto a significant part of its Last Man Standing lead-in. The Season 7 premiere of the Tim Allen starrer drew a 2.7 Live+7 adults 18-49 rating and 13.4 million multi-platform viewers to date to rank as the most-watched Friday regular comedy telecast on any network in 15 years, and Fox’s most-watched comedy on any night in 4 1/2 years. Leading out of that, the debut of The Cool Kids was the most-watched Friday broadcast comedy debut in almost six years. While both shows slipped in Week 2, Last Man Standing‘s ratings actually ticked up in Week 3 while The Cool Kids stabilized with a very small dip.

"Curb Your Enthusiasm" Season 10 Finally Begins Production

Well this is prettay, prettay, prettay good news: Filming has finally begun on "Curb Your Enthusiasm" Season 10.

HBO confirmed to TheWrap production started Friday, 10 months after the premium cable network announced the Larry David-led series had been renewed. No plot details or premiere date was given for the return of the "Seinfeld" co-creator’s neuroses-laced program.

David’s comedy was renewed for a tenth season by HBO last December, with production set to begin in spring 2018 and a yet-to-be-determined debut date yet given. Obviously, something stalled filming for a bit, but hopefully that doesn’t mean you’ll be waiting six years for another season of "Curb" again.

Good Times at ‘Bad Times at the El Royale’

Earlier this month, the Oxford English Dictionary formally added over one hundred different film words to the English lexicon. Among those lucky few additions were the terms giallo (a slasher-esque Italian horror subgenre), hard R (what Venom was supposed to be rated), Kubrickian (as in the 2001: A Space Odyssey director), kaiju (the Tokyo-sized monsters that Guillermo del Toro is obsessed with) and J-horror (the substrata of horror movies that originated in turn-of-the-century Japan), all of which go a long way to bringing the way people talk about movies to the forefront of the language. One of these newly sacrosanct

Super Deluxe to be Shut Down as Part of Warner-at&T Merger

The latest fallout in the aftermath of the At&T-Time Warner merger is the shuttering of Super Deluxe, the multi-platform digital venture that had been a part of the Turner Entertainment family since 2015.

Citing the company’s achievements over those three years, a WarnerMedia statement outlined reasons for ending its production. “There are now massive changes in the social and mobile-first ecosystem and duplication with other business units in our new WarnerMedia portfolio. Super Deluxe found inspiring ways of connecting with a new generation and many of their best practices will be adopted by other Turner properties as we redirect this investment back into our portfolio,” the statement read.

Super Deluxe had made headway in various corners of the entertainment world, offering up digital series like Dean Fleischer-Camp’s “David” (starring Nathan Fielder) and Sarah Ramos’ “City Girl,” which made IndieWire’s list of the Best Web Series of 2017. Earlier this year,

The Five Best Kevin Costner Movies of his Career

One thing you can say about Kevin Costner and his movies is that he always seems to play the reluctant individual that doesn’t always want to get involved at first but ends up being pivotal to the story right from the start or at one point in the film. It’s not a bad part to play really since it speaks to a lot of us out there. We don’t want to get involved right away, but when push comes to shove and we don’t see a of choice then we’ll finally do something and pick a side. His characters aren’t

Was There a Good Movie Buried Somewhere in Sony’s ‘Venom?’

For as unwaveringly harsh as I have been on the Venom (2018) front – and for as ardently as I will go to bat for every last word I wrote about it – it really never had to be this way. Yes, a Venom movie that couldn’t use (let alone mention) Spider-Man was always going to be a head-scratcher. Yes, despite a character design that can’t help but be iconic, Venom could never seem to stand out against his nemesis’ other, more colorful, more interesting rogues. And yes, Sony’s been struggling to make a good movie, let alone a good
