‘Smallville’ Star Allison Mack Accused of Recruiting for NXIVM, Group Accused of Sex Trafficking and Branding Women

‘Smallville’ Star Allison Mack Accused of Recruiting for NXIVM, Group Accused of Sex Trafficking and Branding Women
Actress Allison Mack, known for her work on the superhero TV series “Smallville,” was arrested Friday and accused of recruiting women into a purported self-help organization, NXIVM, in which they were required to work and have sex with the group’s leader, Keith Raniere, prosecutors said.

U.S. attorney Richard P. Donoghue said in a statement Friday that Mack recruited women for Raniere, and that the women were “exploited, both sexually and for their labor.” He said Mack, who was arrested in Brooklyn, New York, is accused of “directly or implicitly” requiring women “to engage in sexual activity with Raniere. In exchange for this, Mack received financial and other benefits from Raniere.”

Raniere was arrested in Mexico in March. He traveled there after The New York Times published a report in October about the group branding women. Mack’s involvement with the group has long been a subject of speculation: She can be seen in a series of conversations posted to YouTube last year, smilingly interviewing Raniere about his teachings.

His charges in March involve sex trafficking and conspiring to force labor. According to Donoghue, Raniere, known within the group as “The Vanguard,” created “a secret society of women whom he had sex with and branded with his initials, coercing them with the threat of releasing their highly personal information and taking their assets.”

‘Grey’s Anatomy': Geena Davis Will Reprise Her Role As Dr Nicole Herman

‘Grey’s Anatomy': Geena Davis Will Reprise Her Role As Dr Nicole Herman
Oscar-winning actress Geena Davis will reprise her role as Dr. Nicole Herman in the penultimate episode of “Grey’s Anatomy” Season 14, TheWrap has learned.

We last saw Dr. Herman in Season 11, and she and Dr. Arizona Robbins (Jessica Capshaw) had a strained but special mentor-mentee relationship. Knowing she had a brain tumor, Herman wanted to impart as much knowledge about pediatrics and fetal surgery to Arizona as she possibly could. She ended up getting brain surgery, but eventually went blind after complications.

According to the episode’s logline, Davis will return as Dr. Herman to present Arizona with an exciting opportunity — could this be how Arizona will be written off the show? It wouldn’t be the first time a character left Grey Sloan Memorial for another career opportunity — we’re looking at you, Cristina Yang.

Capshaw and Drew filmed their final scenes on Thursday, creator Shonda Rhimes said on Instagram.

General Hospital fans know Jason will show up in Switzerland for his own reasons, and we suspect that he might be there because Anna is there. If anything, he’s not someone that a lot of people want to see coming right now. He’s in the middle of all of this, even if he’s not entirely sure why and how at this point. But we do know this.

Dear TV: When It Comes to Empty Coffee Cups, We've Had Our Fill

Dear TV,

This topic has been brewing for a while, but seeing Hawaii Five-0‘s Tani whip around a tray of hot coffees as if the cups held nothing but air forced my hand. Why are the props filled with air?

I mean, so ongoing has this deception been, Myles McNutt created an entire “#EmptyCupAwards” Twitter hashtag to chronicle TV’s conspicuous java errors. (Watch his related Slate video at bottom.)

Of course, there are practical reasons for keeping a hot coffee out of actors’ hands. Microphones possibly picking up the sound of swishing was an original concern. Multiple actors I reached out to,

Everything We Know about “Man of Steel 2” So Far

The less than spectacular performance of Justice League has had a negative impact on the DC Extended Universe. In short, there are numerous movies under consideration, with examples ranging from some kind of Suicide Squad follow-up to a movie about the New Gods that is being headed up by Ava DuVernay. However, there are few movies that have been confirmed, as shown by the fact that no more than one new release is expected for 2018 and no more than a total of four new releases are expected for 2019 and 2020. Under these circumstances, it is natural for people

‘Rick and Morty’ Creator on the Szechuan Sauce Catastrophe: ‘I Wouldn’t Wish That Show’s Fans on Any Fast-Food Restaurant’
“Rick and Morty” fans are known to be, well, fanatical in their devotion to the animated series created by Dan Harmon. Just ask the McDonald’s employees who had to put up with them last year when, due to a gag on the show that went too far, the fast-food chain brought back its Szechuan Sauce for a limited time. Speaking to Vulture from the Tribeca Film Festival, Harmon denied the rumors that he got a cut of those sales — and put some of his own fans on blast for their behavior.

“It’s weird to get mugged by McDonald’s. It’s kind of an honor,” he said in regards to the fact that no one from the show was informed of the promotion, which was not-so-subtly a response to the show featuring said dipping sauce. As for his devotees’ insane response, Harmon said he “wouldn’t wish that show
