‘Manifest’ Gets Order For Three Additional Episodes From NBC
NBC has picked up three episodes of breakout new drama Manifest, bringing the total freshman episode count to 16.

The size of the order, which is below full-season 22 episodes, is not surprising. Shorter-run seasons — between 13 and 18 episodes — have become the norm for heavily serialized broadcast dramas, including NBC’s This Is Us, Fox’s Empire and ABC’s How To Get Away with Murder.

So far this fall “Manifest” has averaged a 3.9 rating in adults 18-49 and 17.2 million viewers in L+7, making it television’s #1 new series in both measures. Counting all entertainment programs on broadcast and cable, “Manifest” ranks #4 in L+7 adult 18-49 averages behind only “This Is Us,” “The Walking Dead” and “The Big Bang Theory” and #2 in total viewers behind only “Big Bang.” Adding in alternate platform viewing raises the “Manifest” L+7 18-49 rating to a 5.1.

“Manifest” stars Melissa Roxburgh, Josh Dallas, Athena Karkanis, J.R. Ramirez, Luna Blaise,

What Is the Website Yesmovies and Is it Legal?

Yesmovies is another streaming site that delivers B-movies, Indie movies, and TV programs for free but the drawback is that it’s not entirely legal. In fact you could say that it’s not at all legal since most if not all of the material is not obtained in a legal manner and could land anyone watching the shows and movies in a great deal of trouble for merely watching on the site. The allure of it of course is that it offers everything for ‘free’ which is usually a dangerous proposition since it tends to come with add-ons that obliterate the

With ‘Making A Murderer’ Part 2, Its Filmmakers Are Ready to Take on Their Critics

It took Laura Ricciardi and Moira Demos more than a decade to shoot, produce, and edit “Making A Murderer” before it reached the Netflix audience in late 2015. The sequel took just three years to make — but Ricciardi and Demos said they came back with even more material to edit. The difference? Money.

While shooting Part 1, Ricciardi and Demos were struggling filmmakers slowly piecing together the story of accused murderer Steven Avery while holding down day jobs. But then came Netflix, and the “Making A Murderer” phenomenon that became one of the streaming service’s biggest early success stories.

“With Part 2, Netflix was a partner from the outset, and so the project was fully financed from the start,” Ricciardi said. “That meant we were in production and post-production simultaneously the entire time. We were actually shooting longer this time, which I think most people would be surprised to read. We were shooting for two years,

(He’ll also oversee CBS’ 50 percent interest in The CW network.)

According to insiders, Ianniello wants to delegate more authority across the company — a change from his predecessor, who preferred to have dozens of direct reports and was known for his micromanagement style. Ianniello (who’s in the running to take the CEO job permanently) also announced Thursday that another Showtime exec, Christina Spade will become the executive vice president and chief financial officer of CBS Corp.
