‘The Cool Kids’ Gets Back 9 Pickup From Fox For Full-Season Order
Fox has picked up nine additional episodes of new multi-camera comedy series The Cool Kids, bringing the full-season order to 22 episodes. It joins its Friday companion, the breakout Last Man Standing revival, which had a full-season 22-episode order from the start.

The Cool Kids has done a respectable job holding onto a significant part of its Last Man Standing lead-in. The Season 7 premiere of the Tim Allen starrer drew a 2.7 Live+7 adults 18-49 rating and 13.4 million multi-platform viewers to date to rank as the most-watched Friday regular comedy telecast on any network in 15 years, and Fox’s most-watched comedy on any night in 4 1/2 years. Leading out of that, the debut of The Cool Kids was the most-watched Friday broadcast comedy debut in almost six years. While both shows slipped in Week 2, Last Man Standing‘s ratings actually ticked up in Week 3 while The Cool Kids stabilized with a very small dip.

"Curb Your Enthusiasm" Season 10 Finally Begins Production

  • The Wrap
Well this is prettay, prettay, prettay good news: Filming has finally begun on "Curb Your Enthusiasm" Season 10.

HBO confirmed to TheWrap production started Friday, 10 months after the premium cable network announced the Larry David-led series had been renewed. No plot details or premiere date was given for the return of the "Seinfeld" co-creator’s neuroses-laced program.

David’s comedy was renewed for a tenth season by HBO last December, with production set to begin in spring 2018 and a yet-to-be-determined debut date yet given. Obviously, something stalled filming for a bit, but hopefully that doesn’t mean you’ll be waiting six years for another season of "Curb" again.

‘New Fox’ Surprise: Here’s Why Recruiting AMC’s Charlie Collier to Run the Fox Network Makes Sense

New Fox has its new network leader, and it’s a bit of a surprise: Charlie Collier, who most recently served as president and general manager of AMC, SundanceTV and AMC Studios, is switching gears to take over the Fox Broadcasting network.

The appointment of Collier as Fox’s entertainment chief executive officer surprised the industry — even some internal Fox staffers, who had expected to see Gary Newman oversee the network’s transition into a standalone entity once 21st Century Fox’s merger with The Walt Disney Company was complete. Newman has been atop the Fox network as Fox TV Group chairman with Dana Walden since 2014, and has run 20th Century Fox TV with Walden since 1999. The exec had been a part of 21st Century Fox and its predecessor News Corp. for more than two decades, but he’ll now depart by the end of the year when the merger is completed.

Whatever Happened to the Cast of “Planet Terror?”

As zombie movies go Planet Terror is one that is well and truly ‘out there’ as it involves a long lineup of big stars and a plot that seems completely open and not too challenging as it involves mutated zombies that are the result of a bio-engineered weapon. Hearkening back to a simpler time in movies it does in fact keep to a rather simple plot that doesn’t involve too many twists and turns but it also seems to slow down the rhetoric and need to think for many people as it’s not exactly the intellectual movie that you would

The DGA had no comment Friday, citing its policy of not commenting on internal matters. The CW, which has aired the four seasons of the comedy series, had no comment. Wauchope unveiled the accusations in a series of tweets.

The Five Best Thriller Movies of the 80s

The mashup might not have originated in the 80s but the thrillers from that decade seem to have taken on a life of their own by taking several different elements and fusing them together into one cohesive unit that simply worked on a number of levels. In many ways the 80s were kind of an odd decade that some were glad to be rid of and others actually lament in passing since they were pretty colorful years and did have their share of quirks and even good times. But overall when it comes to thrillers from the 80s you can

‘Wanderlust’ Review: Toni Collette’s Dominance of 2018 Continues in a Smart Netflix Series That’s Honest About Sex

‘Wanderlust’ Review: Toni Collette’s Dominance of 2018 Continues in a Smart Netflix Series That’s Honest About Sex
Toni Collette is having an extraordinary year. The “Sixth Sense” and “United States of Tara” star is garnering well-deserved awards buzz for her “Hereditary” performance, and just as Oscar season ramps up, here comes another powerful reminder of her acting prowess. “Wanderlust” is a Netflix and BBC co-production that has nothing to do with David Wain’s 2012 film of the same name that starred Jennifer Aniston, Paul Rudd, and Justin Theroux, though this six-part drama series also studies an onscreen couple who’s looking to keep their relationship afloat.

Equal parts empathetic and searing, creator Nick Payne treats his characters honestly and, in turn, crafts a first season both heartening and tragic. Collette is its center, guiding the ship through turbulent emotional seas with assurance. There’s plenty to admire about “Wanderlust,” but it easily could have drifted into the vast unknown of Netflix’s content ocean without her precise,
