Bruno Sammartino, WWE Legend, Dies at 82
WWE Hall of Famer Bruno Sammartino has died. He was 82.

“WWE is saddened to learn that WWE Hall of Famer Bruno Sammartino passed away at age 82,” WWE said. “WWE extends its condolences to Sammartino’s family, friends and fans.”

Nicknamed “The Italian Superman,” Sammartino was the second-ever WWE Champion, defeating Buddy Rogers at Madison Square Garden for the belt. Of course in those days, the pro-wrestling promotion was not called “WWE.”

Sammartino went on to hold the title for nearly eight years — by far the longest reign ever. The way wrestling storylines are written these days, that mark will never be eclipsed.

‘Deadpool 2’ Final Trailer Trolls DC Universe and Introduces Your New Favorite Hero, Peter (Video)
Hey guys, “Deadpool 2” has yet another trailer. And guess what? This one is good too.

Billed as the final trailer for the upcoming 20th Century Fox sequel, this few minutes of footage trolls the rival DC Universe and mocks Josh Brolin’s double-duty as Thanos in the “Avengers” films and Cable in the “Deadpool” ones.

Yeah, that makes for two bad guys in two Marvel movies.

The Thursday morning release also introduces viewers to their new favorite (wildly unqualified) superhero, Peter. He’s pictured above, and he’s the best.

In case you haven’t read it, here is the official logline for the Ryan Reynolds movie — it’s wonderful:

After surviving a near fatal bovine attack, a disfigured cafeteria chef (Wade Wilson) struggles to fulfill his dream of becoming Mayberry’s hottest bartender while also learning to cope with his lost sense of taste. Searching to regain his spice for life, as well as a flux capacitor, Wade must battle ninjas, the yakuza, and a pack of sexually aggressive canines, as he journeys around the world to discover the importance of family, friendship, and flavor – finding a new taste for adventure and earning the coveted coffee mug title of World’s Best Lover.

‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’ Set to Hit China on May 25

‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’ Set to Hit China on May 25
Solo: A Star Wars Story” has been set for release in China on the same day as in the U.S., giving the latest “Star Wars” installment a day-and-date opening in the world’s two biggest film markets.

According to Chinese movie website Douban, “Solo” will open in North America and mainland China on May 25, ten days after its premiere at the Cannes Film Festival. The Chinese title refers to the maverick lead character as “Ranger Solo.”

Disney’s intergalactic franchise might be one of the biggest cinematic phenomena in history, but its reception in mainland China has been tepid. “The Force Awakens” (2016) grossed $124 million in the Middle Kingdom, but “Rogue One” (2017) took in just $69 million, despite having Chinese kung fu superstar Donnie Yen on board. “The Last Jedi” dropped to $42 million at the Chinese box office.

Chinese moviegoers do not seem to be impressed by the arrival of a new chapter.

Chris Cuomo Slams ‘Morning Joe’ for Attacks on Hannity After Past Trump Chumminess: ‘How Is This Different?’ (Video)

CNN anchor Chris Cuomo unleashed some fresh media-on-media fire Thursday, telling his audience on “New Day” that Sean Hannity’s relationship with Trump now is similar to the one the president once enjoyed with “Morning Joe” hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski.

“Remember in the days of the glow, when [Joe] and Mika spoke to Trump all the time, they had him on, discussed what questions to talk about in the break. They were the Trump whisperers,” said Cuomo — speaking of a very well documented period of chumminess between Trump, Joe and Mika around 2015 and early 2016.

“I was watching the headlines closely, because I believed it worked against us here,” Cuomo added. “We didn’t have that kind of access because we weren’t ‘mwah mwah mwah’ with Donald Trump all the time.”

Brutal.

Cuomo, as he disclosed in the segment, is uniquely situated to comment on the matter as “New Day” is currently up against “Morning Joe” in the morning and he will be heading to prime time for his network to go against Hannity this summer.

On hand also during the interview was CNN’s Brian Stelter, who did his best to throw cold water on the comparison.

“Isn’t the difference that he’s now president and Hannity is providing a shelter from the storm,” said Stelter. “Yes the ‘Morning Joe’ relationship when he was a candidate was curious and certainly deserving of scrutiny. But now he’s the president and now the President of the United States is able to use this shelter on Hannity’s show every night.”

Cuomo seemed unconvinced.

A spokesperson for MSNBC declined to comment.

Terry Gilliam’s notoriously long-in-the-works “The Man Who Killed Don Quixote” will close next month’s Cannes Film Festival, president Pierre Lescure announced Thursday.

In addition, festival organizers confirmed that Lars von Trier’s “The House That Jack Built,” a serial killer drama starring Matt Dillon and Uma Thurman, would screen out of competition.

On Tuesday, festival general delegate Thierry Fremaux had signaled that the Danish director would be welcomed back to the festival seven years after he was declared “persona non grata” at the festival for comments he made about Adolf Hitler.

In addition, Kevin Macdonald’s “Whitney,” a doc about the late pop star Whitney Houston, will join the Midnight Screenings series, along with Ramin Bahrani’s adaptation of Ray Bradbury’s “Fahrenheit 451” starring Michael B. Jordan, Michael Shannon, and Sofia Boutella.

Film Review: ‘Little Pink House’

Film Review: ‘Little Pink House’
As the thorny matter of eminent domain — the power of the government to seize private property for debatably public use — continues to flare up in American headlines, Courtney Moorehead Balaker’s “Little Pink House” arrives on screens as an earnest, adamant statement of opposition. Revisiting the Supreme Court’s famously contentious decision in the 2005 case of Kelo vs. City of New London, which ruled against a Connecticut homeowner standing her ground in the face of redevelopment by the Pfizer Corporation, Balaker’s heartfelt film holds attention as a straightforward account of a complicated case, and benefits from the intelligent, careworn presence of Catherine Keener as its human anchor amid all the procedural to-and-fro. If the story’s political and personal nuances have been a bit flattened in Balaker’s script, keeping proceedings in a movie-of-the-week register, this “Little Pink House” nonetheless retains what property developers would call good bones.

As it stands,
