Lasseter’s hire made waves at the beginning of the year, as the former Disney-Pixar kingpin left his animation studio in a cloud of misconduct accusations before spending a year away from the business entirely.

At the time, Skydance CEO Ellison sent a lengthy internal memo to staff saying he’d conducted an independent investigation into the Lasseter accusations and was confident of his innocence. The studio also held a series of town hall meetings,

The one-time plain vanilla network can’t win for losing as it tries to achieve an elusive balance. CNN raised eyebrows Tuesday after details leaked about its hire of Sarah Isgur Flores, a longtime Republican press aide who most recently worked for former U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions. The former Department of Justice spokeswoman is expected to become a political editor at CNN,

L.A. Police Ordered to Unseal Details of Shootings, Misconduct

For decades, law enforcement officers in California could rest assured that their personnel records — including civilian complaints, use of force reports and disciplinary measures — would never face public scrutiny, shielded, as they had been since the 1970s, by the state’s strict police privacy laws. That all changed last year, when state lawmakers approved Sb 1421, a bill that requires police agencies to disclose, in response to Public Information Act requests, records for any officer-involved shootings or deadly use of force incidents, as well as cases of sexual assault and dishonest
