'Wreck-It Ralph' & 'Creed' Sequels Headed Toward Big Thanksgiving Debuts
As the month rolls on, the yearly box office will receive a generous boost from this long, holiday weekend. The five-day Thanksgiving frame will see Disney debut the animated sequel Ralph Breaks the Internet, MGM will come out punching with Creed II and Lionsgate's release of Robin Hood will hope to steal some of the leftover loot. Additionally, carryover films such as Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald and The Grinch will add their own contributions to the bottom line. At the top of the box office, look for Disney Animation's Ralph Breaks the Internet to give the studio the Thanksgiving crown for the third year in a row. Last year Coco delivered a $72.9 million five-day opening while the year before that Moana brought in a massive $82 million, the second largest five-day Thanksgiving opening of all-time. In fact, Disney owns ten of the top eleven five-day Thanksgiving openings

Alessandro Nivola Eyed to Star in ‘Sopranos’ Movie as Dickey Moltisanti (Exclusive)
It looks like David Chase and New Line have found their first star for the “Sopranos” feature film.

Sources tell Variety that Alessandro Nivola is in negotiations to star as Dickey Moltisanti in “The Many Saints of Newark,” the prequel movie to the critically acclaimed and massively successful HBO TV series.

New Line could not be reached for comment on the casting.

In the series, Moltisanti is the deceased uncle of Tony Soprano, played by James Gandolfini, and father of Christopher Moltisanti, played by Michael Imperioli. In the show, the character never appears, as he was murdered prior to the drama’s timeline, but is talked about as someone who, along with Soprano’s father and Uncle Junior, helped turn their small gang into the New Jersey crime family that Soprano eventually heads.

Alan Taylor is directing from a script that series creator Chase penned along with Lawrence Konner. Chase is also producing the pic.

Will Viggo Mortensen’s Racial Slur Doom His Oscar Chances?

Will Viggo Mortensen’s Racial Slur Doom His Oscar Chances?
The controversy over Viggo Mortensen’s use of the N-word during a recent Q&A for his movie “Green Book” appears to be over, but can he and the film recover enough to emerge as a genuine awards contender?

In the immediate days following the incident, glowing profiles in the likes of USA Today and think pieces over the race-themed film glossed over or entirely omitted mention of the incident. The actor, to his credit, was quick to apologize for using the word, which he uttered during a conversation with “Green Book” costar Mahershala Ali and Film Independent programmer and moderator Elvis Mitchell a little over a week ago.

“I was attempting to make the point that the extreme, dehumanizing ugliness that this word conjures, the hateful attitude behind it, has not disappeared just because white people generally no longer use it as a racist insult,” he wrote in a

Conventional TV production loans are usually repaid as the content is delivered, with the broadcaster paying the production company and funder simultaneously. With Svod, payment from the subscription service is often spread over a much longer term,
