Anne Hathaway to Star in Robert Zemeckis’ ‘The Witches’ (Exclusive)
Anne Hathaway has closed a deal to star as the Grand High Witch in Robert Zemeckis and Warner Bros.’ “The Witches” adaptation.

Variety first reported that Hathaway was holding the offer for both that and “Sesame Street,” and at the time, scheduling for both films were holding up dealmaking. With those issues settled, Hathaway is now set to star in the role originally portrayed by Anjelica Huston in the 1990 classic.

Based on the 1973 novel, the film follows a 7-year-old boy who has a run in with real-life witches. Warner Bros. had previously adapted the book in 1990 with Huston playing one of the title characters, but sources close to the project say Zemeckis’ version will be more rooted in the original source material, while the Huston pic was a loose adaptation.

Zemeckis will also pen the script as well as produce with his partner Jack Rapke through their banner ImageMovers, along

‘True Detective’ Season 3: The Main Suspects So Far

(Spoilers ahead for the first two episode of season 3 of HBO’s “True Detective”)

The HBO mystery anthology series “True Detective” took a lengthy hiatus after its second season aired way back in 2015, but now it’s back with Mahershala Ali in a new story that spans decades.

HBO started us off with two episodes in a row on Sunday night, and it’s tough to know what to make of this whole thing so far. That’s not too terribly surprising, given the cryptic and slow burning nature of the show — creator Nic Pizzolatto and co. are big on holding back key details until the right moment.

Here’s the broad stuff we know about the mystery at the center of Season 3 of “True Detective” so far (we’ll get into smaller details in a bit). A pair of children, a brother and sister named Will and Julie Purcell,

What You Need to Know About Mysterio and the Elementals in ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’
So we got our very first look at “Spider-Man: Far From Home” — notable for a lot of reasons, the biggest probably being that it will be the first movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe that takes place after “Avengers: Endgame.”

Now, the trailer provides no clues about how that fourth “Avengers” movie is going to play out — unless you didn’t know that this movie existed, in which case you will be surprised to discover that Spider-Man is alive again. But while this first tease for “Far From Home” doesn’t do much looking back, it does appear to give us some clues about where the McU is going once the battle with Thanos finally concludes in a couple months.

The trailer is pretty light on plot details in general, but it does introduce what we assume are most of the major players. Including five new villains: Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal

‘Egg’ Film Review: Christina Hendricks and Alysia Reiner Carry Prickly Pregnancy Comedy
It’s a fascinating thing to watch a director’s work evolve over a ten-year period, particularly if the director is a woman moving from her 20s to her 30s, the pressing concerns changing with every year. Marianna Palka debuted in 2008 with her film “Good Dick,” exploring the relationship between a dysfunctional young video-store clerk and a man who rents his porn from her. It’s a darkly comic film obsessed with the desperation of youth and the desire for connection, themes that found their way into her next two films, “I’m the Same” and “Always Worthy.”

But something has shifted in Palka’s work in the past few years, a change marked with 2017’s “Bitch,” about a stay-at-home mom who snaps and begins acting like a rabid dog. This is a film searching to examine the deficiencies of traditional gender dynamics in a marriage and family, poking holes

Here’s Vegas’ Over-Under on the Length of Gladys Knight’s Super Bowl National Anthem

Here’s Vegas’ Over-Under on the Length of Gladys Knight’s Super Bowl National Anthem
Gladys Knight has been named will sing the national anthem for CBS’ Super Bowl Liii, and TheWrap’s already got Las Vegas’ Over/Under on time length.

Below is the prop bet, courtesy of BetOnline:

Length of U.S. National Anthem by Gladys Knight in Super Bowl Liii

Over/Under 1 Minute 50 seconds

In other words, should one bet the “Over,” they would be thinking Knight’s first-to-final notes will run longer than 110 seconds. The “Under” means she’ll go short on that length, which is customized to her singing style and based on Knight’s previous performances of “The Star-Spangled Banner.”

Let the games (and gaming) begin…
