Disney Channel Fires ‘Andi Mack’ Actor Arrested for Plotting Sex With Minor
Disney Channel has severed ties with “Andi Mack” actor Stoney Westmoreland following his arrest for allegedly trying to arrange a sexual encounter with a 13-year-old.

“Stoney Westmoreland, an actor working on the series ‘Andi Mack,’ was arrested in Salt Lake City today,” a Disney Channel spokesperson said in a statement Friday. “Given the nature of the charges and our responsibility for the welfare of employed minors, we have released him from his recurring role and he will not be returning to work on the series which wraps production on its third season next week.”

Westmoreland plays the grandfather on the live-action series. On Friday, according to reports, he was arrested in Utah — where the series films — after attempting to arrange a sexual encounter with a 13-year-old that he met through an online dating app. According to reports citing court documents, Westmoreland asked the minor to engage in oral sex and other sexual acts,

Jennifer Lawrence Blisters Harvey Weinstein’s “Predatory Tactics”
Hours after the latest lawsuit to accuse Harvey Weinstein of sexual assault was made public both the disgraced producer and Jennifer Lawrence have responded to complaint – in very different manners.

“My heart breaks for all the women who were victimized by Harvey Weinstein,” the Oscar winner and X-Men alum said in a statement on Friday. Filed on December 12 in Los Angeles Superior Court, the Jane Doe of the six-claim unspecified damages seeking action accuses Weinstein of repeatedly forcing himself upon her. The jury requesting complaint also alleges that in his promises of movie roles for Jane Doe, Weinstein boasted that he had an affair with Lawrence and implied that is why she won the Academy Award.

“I have never had anything but a professional relationship with him,” Lawrence asserted today of the real nature of her interaction with Weinstein. “This is yet another example of the predatory

Les Moonves Personally Oversaw Eliza Dushku’s $9.5M Settlement For ‘Bull’ Harassment Claims
Exclusive: As accusations of sexual harassment and sexual assault by Harvey Weinstein and others began flooding Hollywood early this year, CBS’ then-ceo Les Moonves stepped in to settle claims against one of the network’s biggest stars.

Moonves was deeply and directly involved in the $9.5 million payout that CBS forked over to Eliza Dushku in January after the actor accused Bull lead Michael Weatherly of sexual harassment on the first season of the CBS drama, we’ve learned. Additionally, the confidential payment was sneaked into Bull’s production budget in an effort apparently motivated to avoid the sum popping up on the company’s books, sources say.

The confidential agreement was struck while CBS was engaging in ultimately unsuccessful talks of a potential merger with Viacom. The settlement and its machinations were not known to then-coo Joe Ianniello, who became acting CEO after Moonves resigned in September after a dozen

Terry Crews Is Hosting a Live, 24-Hour Christmas Painting Session — Watch
Anyone who misses Bob Ross and loves Terry Crews will be pleased to learn that the “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” star is holding a live, 24-hour painting session. NBC is airing “A Very Terry Christmas: Cozy 24-Hour Painting Sesh with Terry Crews” on YouTube at this very moment, and although some trickery is involved and the actor isn’t actually taking brush to canvas for a full day, the illusion is convincing enough.

A visit to NBC’s website reveals what we’re watching is in fact a 42-minute video played on a loop. Crews certainly knows what he’s doing, not only as a painter — his color mixing is especially impressive — but as a low-key host. He takes a cue from Ross in saying things like, “Ooh, don’t you just love a blue sky? A pretty, Christmas-y blue sky.”

Over the last year, the actor has become an unexpected part

There Are Now More Shows Streaming Than There Are on Broadcast or Cable

There Are Now More Shows Streaming Than There Are on Broadcast or Cable
We’ve known for some time that we’re in the midst of Peak TV, but now FX has quantified that ongoing phenomenon. Its annual research report reveals that, for the first time ever, streaming shows now outnumber their traditional-tv counterparts. 495 scripted original programs premiered in 2018, 160 of which debuted on a streaming platform; there were 146 on broadcast television, 144 on basic cable, and 45 on pay cable.

That’s compared to 117 streaming shows last year, an increase that stands in sharp contrast to the declines seen by broadcast (153 in 2017) and basic cable (175). FX was kind enough to include a number of charts with its report, one of which shows that new streaming shows accounted for 32 percent of all debuting programs — an eight percent increase from last year.

This development was recently parodied in a “Saturday Night Live” skit presented as an ad for Netflix. “In 2019 we’ll have even more programming to choose from,

‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse’ Post-Credits Scene Explained

‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse’ Post-Credits Scene Explained
(In case it wasn’t clear from the headline, there are spoilers here for “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse”)

The live-action version of Spider-Man may be contained within the Marvel Cinematic Universe for the foreseeable future, but Sony can still do what it wants with animated “Spider-Man” flicks — and thank goodness for that, because “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse” totally owns with the way it embraces all corners of the Spider-Canon.

But if you thought the seven Spider-People who participate in the plot in “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse” — Miles Morales (Shameik Moore), Peter Parker (Chris Pine), Peter B. Parker (Jake Johnson), Gwen Stacy (Hailee Steinfeld), Peni Parker (Kimiko Glenn), Spider-Man Noir (Nicolas Cage) and Spider-Ham (John Mulaney) — represented the full breadth of the Spider-Verse, well, you are sorely mistaken.

The post-credits scene for “Into the Spider-Verse” introduces us to another important Spider-Man from the comics, and also visits a past small screen incarnation of Peter Parker.

Jennifer Lawrence Denies Sleeping With Harvey Weinstein, Shooting Down New Lawsuit’s Claim

Jennifer Lawrence Denies Sleeping With Harvey Weinstein, Shooting Down New Lawsuit’s Claim
Jennifer Lawrence on Saturday shot down the suggestion that Harvey Weinstein had ever slept with her, an accusation that came to light in a lawsuit filed against the disgraced indie mogul earlier this week.

On Wednesday, an unnamed woman filed a lawsuit accusing the mogul of inviting her to his hotel suite during the 2013 Sundance Film Festival, masturbating in front of her while she was using the bathroom and ejaculating onto her skirt. The suit, which said that Weinstein “forcibly performed oral sex” on her, also alleged that he bragged to the woman: “I slept with Jennifer Lawrence.”

The actress, who won an Oscar for the 2012 Weinstein-produced drama “Silver Linings Playbook,” denied that any such event took place.

Film Review: ‘Nona’

Film Review: ‘Nona’
Twenty years and 12 features down the line, it’s still hard to peg the directorial sensibility of Michael Polish, with or without the presence of brother Mark as frequent co-writer and actor. His output has been all over the place, from early Lynchian quirkfests to the very middle-of-the-road inspirational dramedy “The Astronaut Farmer,” not to mention mediocre genre exercises, a B&W Parisian romance (“For Lovers Only”). a good movie about Jack Kerouac (“Big Sur”), and one about manure salesmen that’s about as good as that sounds (“The Smell of Success”). It remains a puzzle whether his thematic interests are more laudably diverse than they are simply arbitrary.

Nona” is yet another departure, a primarily Spanish-language feature shot on location in Central America, touching on issues of illegal immigration and human trafficking. The narrative’s picaresque road-trip majority doesn’t properly set up a late turn towards seriousness, draining
