Anne Hathaway to Star in Robert Zemeckis’ ‘The Witches’ (Exclusive)
Anne Hathaway has closed a deal to star as the Grand High Witch in Robert Zemeckis and Warner Bros.’ “The Witches” adaptation.

Variety first reported that Hathaway was holding the offer for both that and “Sesame Street,” and at the time, scheduling for both films were holding up dealmaking. With those issues settled, Hathaway is now set to star in the role originally portrayed by Anjelica Huston in the 1990 classic.

Based on the 1973 novel, the film follows a 7-year-old boy who has a run in with real-life witches. Warner Bros. had previously adapted the book in 1990 with Huston playing one of the title characters, but sources close to the project say Zemeckis’ version will be more rooted in the original source material, while the Huston pic was a loose adaptation.

Zemeckis will also pen the script as well as produce with his partner Jack Rapke through their banner ImageMovers, along

Cardi B’s F-Word-Filled Rant on the Government Shutdown Is Pretty Cathartic (Video)
Maybe you have an opinion about the ongoing government shutdown, maybe you don’t. But if you do have an opinion, and it’s not what one would call favorable, Cardi B has a new video that will be right up your alley.

Some background: The shutdown, which began Dec. 22, is happening because Trump won’t sign any government funding budget legislation that doesn’t include money for a wall on the U.S.-Mexico border. Trump blames Democrats, despite the fact that it started when Republicans still controlled both houses of congress, and despite the fact that on Dec. 11 Trump said he would be “proud” to cause a shutdown. Now in its 27th day, it’s the longest shutdown in U.S. history.

‘The Daily Show’ Made a Brexit-‘Great British Baking Show’ Mashup That’s Pretty Spot On (Video)
Good news for those of you who are a bit confused by the whole Brexit thing. “The Daily Show” figured out a way to convey just how dicey things are looking for the United Kingdom without requiring a degree in political science: Use one of the major British exports Americans are actually familiar with, “The Great British Baking Show.”

If you’re one of the people who pay attention to these things, you know what’s happening, but for the rest of you, time is slipping away for Britain’s ruling Tories to figure out some kind of deal with Europe for “Brexit” — Aka the country’s withdrawal from the European Union. A potential deal was voted down this week in Parliament, but while on Wednesday Prime Minister Theresa May barely avoided a vote of no confidence that could have forced new elections, Brexit is happening deal or no deal

Cardi B on Government Shutdown: ‘Our Country is in a Hellhole Right Now, for a F–king Wall’
Cardi B slammed President Trump and the government shutdown, the longest in American history, and advocated for those having to work without getting paid in a humorously expletive-laden video post on Instagram on Wednesday.

“Hey y’all, I just wanted to remind you because it’s been a little over three weeks, Ok. Trump is now ordering, as in summonsing, federal government workers to go back to work without getting paid,” she said, incredulously.

The rapper also preemptively addressed her detractors who might cite the shutdown during Obama’s administration.

Film Review: ‘All These Small Moments’

Film Review: ‘All These Small Moments’
The magic of writer-director Melissa B. Miller Costanzo’s “All These Small Moments” can be found within the intimacy of the scenarios, the authenticity of her earnest characterizations, and the accessibility of the actors’ honest performances. In her deftly polished directorial debut, Costanzo dovetails the primary story about a teen’s coming of age with a secondary story about a marriage tenuously tied together. Though this sweet, subtle, and sentimental work is a smidge too simplistic in narrative design, it wins over any resistance with its quiet refinement and heartrending insight.

It’s a tumultuous time for the Sheffield family — particularly for high-schooler Howie (Brendan Meyer), who’s in a transitional phase, caught between teenage anxieties and the onset of adult ones. His parents, Carla (Molly Ringwald) and Tom (Brian d’Arcy James), have hit a rough patch in their marriage and are on the brink of divorce. They bicker constantly,

Fox’s ‘Masked Singer’ Reveals Third Celebrity Masked Singer: And the Deer Is… (Video)

Fox’s oddball, already-smash-hit celebrity singing game show “The Masked Singer” returned Wednesday, revealing at the end of its third episode that the identity of one of its famous contestants — who performed Florida Georgia Line’s “Get Your Shine On” disguised from head to toe in an elaborate Deer costume — was none other than football legend Terry Bradshaw.

This episode saw the return of Lion, Deer, Peacock, Unicorn and Monster. Each performed solo in succession this week, rather than in sing-offs, which was the format showrunner Izzie Pick Ibarra told TheWrap the show would be following from here on out.

Next, it was time for panelists Jenny McCarthy, Nicole Scherzinger, Ken Jeong and Robin Thicke and guest panelists Joel McHale, along with the studio audience, to choose which member of the group was the “weakest performer,” who would then be eliminated and unmasked. And that ended up being poor Deer.

In a clip from the band’s Acl premiere, Arctic Monkeys deliver “The Ultracheese,” which is the final song from their 2018 album, Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino. In line with their trademark droll approach, the performance intersperses shots from the Acl camera crew alongside scenes culled from a faux documentary team, who can be seen in red jumpsuits in the video.
