Scarlett Johansson’s ‘Black Widow’ Movie Adds Florence Pugh

Scarlett Johansson’s ‘Black Widow’ Movie Adds Florence Pugh
Black Widow's web may soon be growing.

Sources tell Variety that Florence Pugh is in talks to join Scarlett Johansson’s standalone superhero film.

Pugh has been on the hot list for this second lead role since last fall, but Marvel wanted to open up the field to other actresses at the beginning of the year. After meeting with several candidates, the studio zeroed back in on Pugh after she drew strong reviews for the MGM comedy-drama “Fighting With My Family.”

Cate Shortland is on board to direct, with Jac Schaeffer penning the script. The film has been in development for a while, but picked up momentum last year after Schaeffer’s hire. Kevin Feige is producing the pic.

Marvel had no comment on the news.

It’s unclear whether “Black Widow” will be an origin tale or set after the next “Avengers” movie.

According to French law, a film must wait 36 months before it can be available on a streaming service if it first wants to play in French theaters, …

"Fuller House" Drops Lori Loughlin Following Her Involvement in College Bribery Scandal

Only a couple of days after Hallmark decided to cut ties with 54-year-old actress Lori Loughlin, Netflix appears to be following in its footsteps. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Loughlin has been booted from the fifth and final season of Fuller House and will not return as Aunt Becky when the show makes its last run this Fall. Production hasn't begun, but THR reports that Loughlin's absence won't have any effect on filming since there aren't plans for her to come back.

On March 12, Loughlin made headlines along with Felicity Huffman and nearly 50 others who were arrested for fraudulently getting their children admitted into elite universities such as Yale, Stanford, Georgetown, and USC. Loughlin and her husband, fashion designer Mossimo Giannulli, are now facing charges for paying USC $500,000 to admit their two daughters, 20-year-old Isabella Rose and 19-year-old Olivia Jade. Loughlin turned herself in to the FBI on Wednesday, was released on a $1 million bond,

Denis Villenueve’s ‘Dune,’ Starring Timothée Chalamet, Has Officially Begun Filming As Full Cast Is Now Confirmed
After all the talk and casting rumors, it’s official – production on “Dune” has officially begun!

Normally, hearing that another film was being made based on the Frank Herbert classic sci-fi novel would be cause for alarm. David Lynch gave the challenge a valiant effort, which is very Lynch-ian take on “Dune” back in 1984. Before that, filmmaker Alejandro Jodorowsky tried his damndest and got close to adapting the novel, and instead became the basis for a great documentary titled “Jodorowsky’s Dune.” However, this time, it just feels like all the stars are aligning and the best chance “Dune” fans will ever have at a faithful, and incredible, film based on the novel series is coming thanks to filmmaker Denis Villeneuve and his truly incredible cast.

The prices are astronomical in the current market,

Help Wanted: Warner Bros.’ New CEO Will Need Deep Digital Chops

Warner Bros. Entertainment is suddenly in the market for a new CEO. The hunt is taking place at a moment when that job description is in a state of massive flux due to the corporate upheaval implemented in the past few weeks by new parent company At&T.

The stunning downfall of Kevin Tsujihara as the studio’s chairman-ceo came amid an investigation into misconduct involving an extramarital affair with British actress Charlotte Kirk. Allegations that Tsujihara used his clout to help secure roles for Kirk left his function as studio chief untenable in the #MeToo era, despite Kirk’s assertions that the affair was consensual.

Tsujihara’s permanent successor (or successors) will come into the role at a fraught time of expansion and reorganization for the studio and its former sibling divisions — HBO and Turner — under the WarnerMedia umbrella. Warner Bros.’ new leadership will need to be able to deftly

Why do you have to do this to us Pixar? Does every new look at “Toy Story 4” have to make us cry this much?

Paramount Pictures threw a cocktail party Monday night to preview 15 minutes of the upcoming Elton John biopic, set for release on May 31, at the Troubadour in Los Angeles, the legendary rock club where John made his U.S. debut nearly 50 years ago.

The footage featured pieces of John’s story, from his childhood as a musical prodigy to his rise to international fame as well as his battle with drug, sex and shopping addictions.

The film also includes fantasy bits, including John (Taron Egerton) and the Troubadour crowd floating in the air as he sings “Crocodile Rock.”

The movie will undoubtedly be compared to “Bohemian Rhapsody,” the Queen biopic that became a smash hit at the box office and nabbed a few Oscars. “Rocketman” director Dexter Fletcher was an uncredited director on “Bohemian” after replacing Bryan Singer.

Before “Bohemian Rhapsody” was even released, a
