Charlize Theron may have been in for a night of celebration at Elle’s Women in Hollywood event where she was an honoree, but that didn’t prevent her from speaking about serious subjects on the red carpet.

After posing with Lady Gaga, Theron took a moment to talk #MeToo and how the movement has changed Hollywood.

“I feel like for me the most important thing is that it’s pretty impossible to go anywhere and not have people talk about this,” she told Variety‘s Marc Malkin at the Four Seasons Beverly Hills Monday. “And that conversation — I feel like with any issue, if you can’t keep the conversation going, it’s impossible to sustain any momentum.”

Trevor Noah Identifies the Real ‘WorldStar’ Moment in the ‘Cornerstore Caroline’ Saga (Video)
On Monday’s episode of “The Daily Show,” Trevor Noah took an extended look at the “Cornerstore Caroline” story, and touched on a weird reference to WorldStarHipHop.

“Cornerstore Caroline” is the nickname given to a white woman who accused a nine year old black boy of groping her inside a Brooklyn bodega. A bystander videotaped the woman shouting at the boy and his mother and sister outside the shop while insisting she was calling 911 — police say no such 911 call was actually made, weirdly — and the clip quickly went viral. Security footage later proved the groping did not happen, and the woman apologized.

One of the more curious moments during the videotaped encounter comes at the end, when the woman appears to terminate the call, and says “put that on Worldstar.” That refers to the website WorldStarHipHop,

Cutting-edge international drama used to be deadly serious: Think Nordic Noir.

“Arde Madrid,” represents a departure.

An eight-part half-hour created by Paco Leon and Anna R. Costa, the comedy-thriller yokes Spain’s grand movie comic tradition of caustic neorealism — think Rafael Azcona and Luis Berlanga — with suspense and romance, B&W cinematography of, in set pieces, the highest order; and a period of 1961 Madrid’s little known Dolce Vita, energized with Romani clans, flamenco dives, whiskey and sex, and real-life figures, led by the extraordinary Ava Gardner.

But it is its thoroughly modern feminist filter that really gives “Arde Madrid
