Grimm is eying a comeback. NBC is developing a spinoff from the supernatural series, which bowed out last year after six seasons. Like the original, the offshoot hails from Universal TV and Sean Hayes and Todd Milliner’s studio-based Hazy Mills Prods.

Written by Melissa Glenn (Marvel’s Iron Fist), the untitled spinoff, I hear, will center on a female Grimm. Per NBC, building off the mythology of the original series, the new show will feature returning fan favorites while also introducing new characters, new dangers and epic new mysteries. I hear no actors are currently attached but the idea is for the offshoot to feature some original cast members, regular or recurring.

Glenn executive produces with Hazy Mills’ Hayes and Milliner. Grimm co-creators/showrunners David Greenwalt and Jim Kouf will serve as consulting producers.

The original series followed Portland Homicide detective Nick Burkhardt (David Giuntoli), who discovered he is a Grimm,

Roseanne Barr Calls Character’s Opioid Death ‘Grim and Morbid’
Roseanne Barr criticized ABC and The Conners after it was revealed on the series premiere that her Roseanne character died of an opioid overdose.

“While we wish the very best for the cast and production crew of The Conners, all of whom are deeply dedicated to their craft and were Roseanne’s cherished colleagues, we regret that ABC chose to cancel Roseanne by killing off the Roseanne Conner character. That it was done through an opioid overdose lent an unnecessary grim and morbid dimension to an otherwise happy family show,

Watch Colbert on Trump’s Feud With Stormy Daniels, ‘Delusional’ Defense of Saudi Arabia
Stephen Colbert recounted the Week in Trump on Tuesday’s Late Show – from the president’s latest Twitter spat with porn star Stormy Daniels to his “delusional” defense of Saudi Arabia in the Khashoggi case to daughter Ivanka’s inspirational quote gaffe.

The comedian opened with Trump’s “one victory” this week. Earlier this year, the president described Daniels – who alleges they had an affair in 2006 – as a “liar” on Twitter, which prompted the porn star to file a defamation lawsuit. A judge dismissed that suit on Tuesday, ordering her

New York Times Slapped With Lawsuit From Sheriff Joe Arpaio

The New York Times has found itself on the wrong end of a defamation lawsuit brought by former Arizona sheriff Joe Arpaio, filed Tuesday in U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.

The immigration hardliner who was famously pardoned from a contempt of court misdemeanor by President Trump, accused the paper and editorial board member Michelle Cottle of a “maliciously calculated” effort to damage his reputation, stemming from an August 2018 article by Cottle celebrating Arpaio’s failed Senate run.

“While the Defamatory Article is strategically titled as an opinion piece, it contains several false, defamatory factual assertions concerning Plaintiff Arpaio,” the suit reads. “These false factual assertions are carefully and maliciously calculated to damage and injure Plaintiff Arpaio”

“Big Bird brought me so many places, opened my mind and nurtured my soul,” Spinney in a statement Wednesday on the Sesame Workshop website. “Before I came to ‘Sesame Street,’ I didn’t feel like what I was doing was very important. Big Bird helped me find my purpose. Even as I step down from my roles, I feel I will always be Big Bird. And even Oscar, once in a while! The Conners” had a solid series premiere on Tuesday, topping “The Voice” from 8-8:30 p.m. but losing the time slot to CBS’ “NCIS,” according to Nielsen’s overnight ratings. The Roseanne-less “Roseanne” fell 35 percent shy of its predecessor-series’ massive Spring 2018 return, but it beat the season finale, per these earliest-available TV ratings.

This version of the classic ABC sitcom landed a 7.5 rating in Nielsen’s 56 metered markets. The “Roseanne” return scored an 11.6, which ultimately translated to 18.2 million total viewers.

Last night’s 7.5 initial rating is 3 percent better than what ended up being the “Roseanne” series finale. It actually ended up besting the final three episodes of the 2017-18 TV season.

This week, Brasher leaves town once again. She’ll spend most of the fall opening for the Psychedelic Furs, wrapping up a busy year filled with shows alongside the Zombies,

Caroline Rose Gets Lost in Suburbia in ‘Jeannie Becomes a Mom’ Video
New York City’s Caroline Rose took her songwriting to a new level of wit and heart with Loner, the album she released in February. It’s full of deftly drawn characters, like the numbingly normal partygoers in “More of the Same” or the comically exaggerated versions of Rose herself in “Money” and “Soul No. 5.” One of her best creations is the lost suburbanite in “Jeannie Becomes a Mom,” drifting through the cul-de-sacs outside Topeka, Kansas in search of her dream life.
