‘Grimm’ Spinoff With A Female Lead In Works At NBC
Grimm is eying a comeback. NBC is developing a spinoff from the supernatural series, which bowed out last year after six seasons. Like the original, the offshoot hails from Universal TV and Sean Hayes and Todd Milliner’s studio-based Hazy Mills Prods.

Written by Melissa Glenn (Marvel’s Iron Fist), the untitled spinoff, I hear, will center on a female Grimm. Per NBC, building off the mythology of the original series, the new show will feature returning fan favorites while also introducing new characters, new dangers and epic new mysteries. I hear no actors are currently attached but the idea is for the offshoot to feature some original cast members, regular or recurring.

Glenn executive produces with Hazy Mills’ Hayes and Milliner. Grimm co-creators/showrunners David Greenwalt and Jim Kouf will serve as consulting producers.

The original series followed Portland Homicide detective Nick Burkhardt (David Giuntoli), who discovered he is a Grimm,

Latino Group Nhla Joins Call for Greater Diversity at Paramount

  • The Wrap
The National Hispanic Leadership Agenda (Nhla) has announced it is joining a nationwide campaign calling for Paramount to improve its record of Latinx inclusion.

In an open letter Tuesday, Nhla called on Paramount CEO Jim Gianopulos to work with the National Hispanic Media Coalition (Nhmc) and the National Latino Media Council (Nlmc) to address what it says is “Paramount’s status as the worst-performing movie studio with respect to Latino inclusion.”

Nhmc and Nlmc have been organizing a boycott effort against Paramount after an Nhmc report earlier this year said the studio had “the worst numbers amongst the major six film studios when it comes to Latino representation in front and behind the camera.” The groups organized a protest in front of the studio entrance in August, and have announced a second protest will take place Wednesday.

Young Abe Lincoln Leaps to the Screen in ‘These Honored Dead’ (Exclusive)

A nation divided. Panic in the streets. Mounting fears that the troubled republic wouldn’t survive. Though Jonathan Putnam’s Lincoln and Speed novels are set in the tumultuous years that would ultimately lead to the American Civil War, the creator of a forthcoming TV adaptation of the series, “These Honored Dead,” admits that the historical narrative is as timely as ever.

“In the time we’ve been working on it, the themes have become far more relevant than they were when we started,” said series creator and showrunner Michael Bergmann.

“These Honored Dead” is an eight-part one-hour series based on Putnam’s best-selling murder mystery series, which revolves around the real-life friendship between the young lawyer Abraham Lincoln and his lifelong friend and intellectual rival Joshua Speed. Bergmann’s Burgeon & Flourish will be bringing “These Honored Dead” to Mia’s drama series pitching competition, where they’re looking to meet with broadcasters,

‘This Is Us': Milo Ventimiglia Teases Jack and Rebecca’s Upcoming La Road Trip
Tuesday night’s episode of “This Is Us” focused on how Milo Ventimiglia’s Jack and his younger brother Nicky (Michael Angarano) ended up in the Vietnam War, but the previous episode teased a period in Jack and Rebecca’s love life that we can’t wait to see on screen.

“Katie Girls” ended with Jack agreeing to go with Rebecca (Mandy Moore) to Los Angeles, where she has been dreaming of going to try and sign with the same record label as her music hero Joni Mitchell. The upcoming road trip will be a bit of a test for the young couple, Ventimiglia teased to TheWrap ahead of Tuesday’s episode.

“L.A. is a long way from Pittsburgh in 1972, so Jack and Rebecca are going to be spending a lot of time together,” the actor told TheWrap, hinting that it might not be smooth sailing the entire trip.

Tom Arnold Says He Gave Trump ‘Elevator Tape’ Details to a ‘Real Journalist’ (Podcast)
Tom Arnold’s “The Hunt for the Trump Tapes” aired an episode Tuesday dedicated to a Trump “Elevator Tape” — even though there’s no proof such a tape exists.

Arnold, who cheerfully admits he has no credibility, told us on the “Shoot This Now” podcast that he’s turned over what he’s learned about the reputed tape to a “real journalist.” You can listen to it on Apple or right here.

There’s just one problem with Arnold telling a real journalist what he knows: As you’ll hear on our podcast, he’s very cagey about what, if anything, he conclusively knows.

The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment Tuesday.

Arnold’s show, which planned to air three episodes back-to-back Tuesday, is dedicated to tapes that have never been proven to exist, but the elevator tape may be the most elusive of all.
