"Curb Your Enthusiasm" Season 10 Finally Begins Production

Well this is prettay, prettay, prettay good news: Filming has finally begun on "Curb Your Enthusiasm" Season 10.

HBO confirmed to TheWrap production started Friday, 10 months after the premium cable network announced the Larry David-led series had been renewed. No plot details or premiere date was given for the return of the "Seinfeld" co-creator’s neuroses-laced program.

David’s comedy was renewed for a tenth season by HBO last December, with production set to begin in spring 2018 and a yet-to-be-determined debut date yet given. Obviously, something stalled filming for a bit, but hopefully that doesn’t mean you’ll be waiting six years for another season of "Curb" again.

'Halloween' Looks to Scare Up $70M Opening, Helping October 2018 Maintain a Record Pace

'Halloween' Looks to Scare Up $70M Opening, Helping October 2018 Maintain a Record Pace
As of yesterday, October is pacing a massive +42.3% ahead of October 2017. In fact, October 2018 is narrowly outpacing October 2014, the largest October on record, and this weekend should help increase that lead. Universal and Blumhouse's Halloween is poised to deliver what will now be the second largest October opening ever behind Venom, which broke the record only a couple weeks ago. The weekend also sees the nationwide expansion of Fox's The Hate U Give, which is expected to deliver in the mid-to-high single digit millions, but could break out a bit higher after a strong showing in limited release. October 2018 is going big when it comes to new releases and after this weekend the month will feature three of the top ten October releases of all-time after Venom's chart-topping, $80.2 million debut and A Star is Born's $42.9 million opening on the same weekend. Added to the list will be this

‘Manifest’ Gets Order For Three Additional Episodes From NBC

  • Deadline
‘Manifest’ Gets Order For Three Additional Episodes From NBC
NBC has picked up three episodes of breakout new drama Manifest, bringing the total freshman episode count to 16.

The size of the order, which is below full-season 22 episodes, is not surprising. Shorter-run seasons — between 13 and 18 episodes — have become the norm for heavily serialized broadcast dramas, including NBC’s This Is Us, Fox’s Empire and ABC’s How To Get Away with Murder.

So far this fall “Manifest” has averaged a 3.9 rating in adults 18-49 and 17.2 million viewers in L+7, making it television’s #1 new series in both measures. Counting all entertainment programs on broadcast and cable, “Manifest” ranks #4 in L+7 adult 18-49 averages behind only “This Is Us,” “The Walking Dead” and “The Big Bang Theory” and #2 in total viewers behind only “Big Bang.” Adding in alternate platform viewing raises the “Manifest” L+7 18-49 rating to a 5.1.

“Manifest” stars Melissa Roxburgh, Josh Dallas, Athena Karkanis, J.R. Ramirez, Luna Blaise,

Why Rihanna Saying No to the Super Bowl Matters (Column)
From the moment news broke that Maroon 5 was to be this year’s Super Bowl halftime show headliner, it seemed clear that there was something more afoot. After all, this is a performance that typically is viewed by even more people who tune into the game itself. And that game is TV’s marquee event of the year, the one remaining broadcast with the extant power to bring together viewers of all stripes, if only to take in the spectacle. The artists booked usually bring a bit of spectacle themselves. While taking nothing away from the success Adam Levine and his band have enjoyed,

His hybrid — he likes to call it “amphibious” — brand combining linear and digital play has since expanded its footprint to Australia, and more recently to the U.S. and Italy. Iuzzolino spoke to Variety during Rome’s Mia market about the challenges of bringing subtitled shows to audiences in the U.S. and

‘American Horror Story': Taissa Farmiga Explains Tate and Violet’s ‘Return to Murder House’ Ending
(Warning: This post contains spoilers for Wednesday’s episode of “American Horror Story: Apocalypse,” “Return to Murder House.”)

The “Return to Murder House” episode of “American Horror Story: Apocalypse” had enough callback moments and references to the franchise’s first season to leave longtime Ryan Murphy fans with years worth of material to obsess over. But one moment in particular had Violet (Taissa Farmiga) and Tate (Evan Peters) shippers screaming at their screens: that ending where the two ghostly lovers finally reconcile.

Madison Montgomery (Emma Roberts) came around in the final moments of the eagerly-anticipated crossover episode to blow some magical dust in Ben (Dylan McDermott) and Vivien Harmon’s (Connie Britton) daughter’s eyes, which seemed to help her allow Tate back in to her life after all the violent acts he committed in Season 1 aka “Murder House” — including a school shooting and raping her mother.

Review: Calle 13’s Visitante Reemerges With Wonderfully Madcap ‘Trending Tropics’ Album

The Puerto Rican group Calle 13 are one of modern Latin music’s most-treasured institutions: Over the course of five scrappy, propulsive albums, they were aesthetically omnivorous, politically bracing and even commercially successful, earning a platinum plaque and a smattering of minor hits. Their peers adored them, and no group has won more awards from the Latin Recording Academy.

Calle 13 went on hiatus following the release of 2014’s Multi_Viral, and its members have gradually worked to establish solo identities. The singer iLe struck first, with a handsome, nostalgic full-length titled iLevitable.

Review: How to Dress Well Returns to Distortion on ‘The Anteroom’

In 2016, Tom Krell, the man behind the project How to Dress Well, proclaimed, “there’s been a deficit of joy in music.” After gaining a following with songs that submerged attenuated falsetto pleas beneath a layer of electronics, he was moving “toward directness” on his Care album. The reason? “Because I’m just surrounded by the indirectness and amorphousness and impressionistic character of whatever 21st-century life is.”

Before the follow-up, The Anteroom, out today, that sentiment curdled into something more concrete and savage, a sensation Krell likens to being “shredded,

Wilson Fisk Gives a Very Trump-esque Speech in ‘Daredevil’ Season 3
(There are big spoilers ahead for “Daredevil” Season 3 on Netflix)

Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio), better known in comic book lore as the Kingpin, is not really that much like Donald Trump in general. He’s a lot more cold and calculating, for one thing — it’s largely his brains that make his criminal empire work, whereas few would say that Trump is the kind of guy who does plans in any normal sense.

And for the most part, in Season 3 of Marvel’s “Daredevil” on Netflix, Fisk is content to work largely behind the scenes doing fun and horrifying machinations, staying several steps ahead of Daredevil (Charlie Cox), Foggy Nelson (Elden Henson) and Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll) for almost the entire season, easily countering every move they make without taking any public action. But in the eleventh episode of season 3 he finally takes center stage and delivers a

Review: Jess Glynne Is Full of Soul on ‘Always In Between’

Review: Jess Glynne Is Full of Soul on ‘Always In Between’
British belter Jess Glynne introduced herself to American audiences in 2014 with “Rather Be,” an effervescent slice-of-love giggle that showed off her strong vocals and ability to surrender to pure bliss. On her second full-length, she’s once again bridging the gap between bouncy pop-edm and feisty soul, shaking off the malaise that’s struck too many of her playlisted peers in a way that lets Glynne serve as a one-woman rooting crew for herself and, by extension, anyone in need of a peppy pick-me-up.

Glynne has a husky, yet supple

‘Sanctorum,’ ‘Go Youth!’ ‘This Is Not Berlin’ Highlight Impulso Morelia

More than 60 films were submitted to form part of the 4th Impulso Morelia, the works in progress section of the Morelia Film Festival taking place this week in the pre-Colombian Mexican city.

This year’s crop of projects, as much if not more than ever before, demonstrates the reflective capabilities of Mexican filmmakers in regards to their country. Most of the films take a long and critical look at the Mexican government, the country’s culture and its people in a time when that’s not always the safest thing to do. In March of last year three film students in Guadalajara were kidnapped, killed and their bodies dissolved in acid only days after the Guadalajara Film Festival. Their only crime: Filming in a house they didn’t know belonged to a drug cartel.

“One thing that always strikes me in Mexico is the ability of its cinema to have
